Hi I'm Micah Goodwin

I am an Elementary Education major. I love to travel and spend time in the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the second of four daughters. I was born in Mesa Arizona, but lived in Yuma for seven years before moving north to Iowa. After a quick two years there, my family moved once again, this time to Colorado where we have lived ever since. Currently I am a freshman studying Elementary Education. I have wanted to be a teacher my entire life. I love seeing the excitement young kids display over learning something new and I love all of the questions that spill out of theirs mouths all hours of the day. I hope to complete my degree in three years and then teach kindergarten. I love the outdoors and traveling! Growing up in CO has certainly impacted me in that sense. I love camping, hiking, spelunking, backpacking, rafting, snowboarding, canoeing, exploring and so much more! I love spending time with my friends and traveling with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My father was born a member as well. My mother and her family were taught by missionaries and converted while she was growing up. I know that my Father in heaven loves and cares for me. I have been blessed beyond measure in my life. I know that families can be together forever. A loving Heavenly Father would not abandon his children on the earth without help or direction. I know that Joseph Smith restored the gospel to the world. It is through the meek and innocent that Christ and the Father bring their words unto man. I know that Thomas S. Monson is called of God to be a prophet, seer, and revelator at this time on earth. I know that through the guidance of Christ and his doctrine that I can reach my fullest potential. All things can be done through Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a positive example. I attended a high school where I was the only Church member. Since I tend to be shy, especially when it comes to things that I hold near and dear, I didn't typically speak out. I instead did my best to follow the commandments and live my life in a manner that is pleasing unto the Lord. I prepare myself to answer questions about the church that are asked by friends and associates. I currently serve in the church as a secretary. In the past I have helped organize youth activities both through summer camps and weekly events. Each month I visit a few girls in my ward and spend time getting to know them and helping them out in any way that is needed.
