Hi I'm Jena.

I am 23. I am happily married and I am about to have my first baby. Oh, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for 2 years now and I am about to be a first time mom. My husband and I are expecting a baby girl and we just can't wait! My husband and I met at church while we were both going to school. I couldn't be happier that we decided to get married. I got my associate's degree in Kinesiology while my husband continues to finish up his PH.D. I plan on going back to school once we get settled down. I love learning new things especially about the human body. In my free time I love to read and watch movies. I am a big Harry Potter fan which combines my love for reading and movie watching. I am a lover of sports. I could watch more football than I should admit. I am a huge goofball and love to laugh. I love making others laugh and have a good time. I live by the moto work hard, play harder. I love having new experiences and trying new things. My biggest passion is traveling around the world. I hope to add a humanitarian trip to my list of travels one day.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of this church. But that is not why I am a Mormon. I chose to be a Mormon when I moved out to go to school. Living alone, I new had the freedom to decide for myself. The times in my life I haven't lived the gospel of Jesus Christ are some of the saddest times in my life. They left me feeling lost and confused and unloved. When I finally realized that the joy and love I so desperately wanted back in my life came from being a fully active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I never looked back. This church has given me not only the greatest joy, but the greatest peace I have ever felt. I lost my mother to a long battle of cancer. I took it hard, as any child would, but I had something many don't have. I had the knowledge that my mother wasn't lost to me forever. She isn't with me physically anymore, but we will live as a family again. The gospel of Jesus Christ has taught me this and knowing this I was able to find peace in her death. I have never regretted my decision to be a member of this church. Because of my decision, I have the knowledge of what happens to us after death. I know where I come from. I know I am truly a child of God and I know that my Heavenly Father loves me unconditionally and knows me personally. He knows what I need in my life and he is always willing to help me. All I have to do is ask for His help.

How I live my faith

I have been a Sunday School teacher for seven-year-olds for the past two years. I would teach them simple things like how to share and be nice, but most of the time we would talk about the love Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have for them. We would learn about all the things they did for us and all the things they can do for us. I absolutely loved working with these kids. Their sweet, innocent spirits probably taught me more than I ever taught them and I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to be around them. Through them I got to see the love our Father in Heaven truly has for us. He loves little children and blesses them. Getting these children to realize that was priceless. Helping them realize at such a young age the importance of the gospel was a huge responsibility, but I am so thankful for it. I am so grateful to be part of their learning and understanding of the gospel. I love knowing that these young children know answers to questions that have adults puzzled and confused over and if we keep teaching them, they will never have that confusion. I also get to help my husband from time to time with visiting less active members of the church. This gives us the opportunity to talk with people struggling with their faith. Sometimes we just ask if there is anything we can do to help them. It always nice knowing there are people who care about you and we get to be those helping hands to some of these people who are struggling. The Church of Jesus Christ gives me a sense of worth and purpose and I am truly thankful for this.
