Hi I'm Richard

In Utah I'm Asian, in LA I'm white, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currrently a missionary in the California Los Angeles Mission. My father was born and raised a Mormon in Utah. My mom was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea and is a convert to the Church. So growing up in Utah I was Asian, but being in LA, most people consider me Caucasian. It's okay I like being moderate. In most things I am moderate, except my belief in God. I fully believe that there is a God and that He loves and cares for us and that Jesus Christ is a His Son and that He established a Church to help us here on Earth.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm Mormon because I learned from experience. I've learned that when I follow the path, the plan, that things work out better, that I'm happier that I'm more comfortable and more confident. I've learned from pray because I cannot deny that I've had prayers answered. I've learned from others who told me their testimonies and I could feel the witness of more than just their voice, but also the witness of the Holy Ghost. I've learned from study and time spent, NOT because my parents are.

How I live my faith

I'm doing what I can. It's not much but it's what God asks. I'm serving for two years in Los Angeles spreading the word of God and just trying in whatever I can to uplift and help others, whether that's through cleaning their yard, painting their house, or sharing with them the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the way it can change their lives and the lives of their friends by listening and abiding by it's teachings.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Richard
It's pretty great! I think that pretty often people think that God's way is hard and complicated and that the alternate of not following the commandments and listening to no one but ourselves is easier. It's not! We are privileged by having so many channels into knowing what God's will is, and His will is the easiest route to achieve what we truly want. We have scriptures, we have personal prayer, we have prophets and apostles and all it does is allow us the opportunity to understand the plan better to know how to do things the best we can. I can't speak for everyone but I can honestly say that I'm happy and I'm much happier when allowing God's plan be my plan. That's basically what I can say is I'm happy! Show more Show less
