Hi I'm Joseph Shih

Hi, I'm Joseph. I am from Taiwan and studied high school in California. I am a sports enthusiast, BYU student, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

Hi, I'm Joseph. I was born in Salt Lake City but I grew up in Taiwan. When I was 14 years old I went to California to study high school. After that I studied three semesters at Brigham Young University Provo. I am 19 years old, and I am currently serving as a missionary in the Washington DC North Mission!

Why I am a Mormon

My parents converted to the Gospel in Los Angeles when my brother was one, and I grew up in the church. However, there are many more reasons why I'm a Mormon. I remember when I went to Palos Verdes to study high school and I was away from my family. I knew hardly any English and it was a big transition. But the members there were kind and welcomed me and helped me a ton. When I again moved two years later to Fremont, and the same thing happened. I felt like I was in a big family. You can't get that anywhere else; wherever I go, as long as there is a church, I know everything will be fine. Having the knowledge of the Plan of Salvation also helps me recognize my purpose in life. Feeling the Spirit is something indescribably awesome. Ultimately, I think I'm a Mormon because it brings happiness. So yeah, I don't think I'll leave.

How I live my faith

I strive to read the scriptures and pray often. I try my best to live the Savior's commandment, which is to love everyone. I know that having the gift of the Holy Ghost is one of the most wonderful gifts God has given us. It is a special feeling to constantly feel the Spirit and have His guidance. It is not heart sale, it is not brainwashing, but you'll have to feel it to know it. And I've found that just talking to people always make me feel better, no matter who they are because we're all children of Heavenly Father
