Hi I'm Cathy Kirk

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Cathy I am a mother of four children, three boys and one girl. My children are all grown and married. I now have six grandchilden. Now that my children are all grown I am working with my husband as a mortgage loan officer. My husband and I like to go jeeping on back mountain roads and see alot of wonderful places that you can not get to with a regualar car. We enjoy the outdoors. We love camping, fishing, and we even have fun going crab fishing. We even took fly fishing lessons and bought a fly fishing pool. We still need to find a time to try the fly fishing. I can't wait. I have a General Ham Radio lic. I am a member of the local ARES group and realy enjoy serving in various communication efforts in our community. One event that we do is the local Air show. This is a fun way for my husband and I to serve in our community. We have met many wonderful friends through our ARES group. I love to read, swim, do crafts and sew. Mostly I love to spend time with my children and grandchildren. I love serving in the Church. I am working in the Stake Relief Society. I have served as a councelor in the the Young Women's and I have served in every position in the Primary. I have taught Sunday school, and worked in the scouting. I have loved everyone of my callings. I was called to my first calling when I was 17 or 18 to served as a primary teacher. A crazy thing I did in life when my oldest son was in High School was go bungie jumping with him. Life is fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church with my family when I was nine years old. My brother met a LDS girl and she sent the missionaries to our home. Our family was taught by the missionaries. I love those missionaries for what they have given me as a gift in life. I have loved being a member of the church since the day I was baptized. Being a member of the church has given me a since of who I am in life. I know that I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father who loves me. I have the gospel of Jesus Christ to guide me through my life and help me with the decissions I have to make. I can see where the gospel has been an influence in my life to make good choices. I like being a part of something much greater than myself that helps me to stay close to the Savior. A program that helps me stay focused on the Savior and teaches me to follow his commandments. When I do I find that my life is much happier and I feel good about who I am and what I am doing. The Mormon church is like a large family to me. I know where ever I go I can have friends who will have the same values and ideas that I have. I never have to be alone. The church was a great asset to me raising my children. It gave me a set of values to teach my children to help them make good decisions in life. The church has a great youth program that gave my children many oportunities that I could not have given them by myself. Serving in the church has taught me many great skills that I could not have learned on my own. How to organized an activity or meeting. It has taught me how to work well with other people and how to serve other people. We learn to love through service. I love my Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ very much and I am happy that I know who they are and who I am. I know how I fit into Heavenly Fathers plan. I know why I am here on earth and what my purpose here is. And I love it! It gives meaning to my life. I wouldn't change a thing.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith by trying to follow the comandments of the Savior. I work hard everyday to keep the covenants I have made in the Temple where we were married. I have served with adult women and youth in the chruch. In that calling I taught Sunday lessons, and during the week planned acitivities for the girls. I attended our girls camp in the summmer as a cabin councelor, and I have worked in the kitchen cooking and in the craft room. Girls camp is alot of fun, the girls learn so much and grow together as youth. I have served with the young primary age children teaching them on Sunday and as a leader. And loved every minute of it. Little children are so eager to learn. They just naturally love their Heavenly Father and the Savior. I try each day to read the scriptures to help me stay close to the Savior. We have family prayer each day. Praying together as a family helps to bring a family closer together. I also try to remember each day to have my own personal pray time. One thing I do to live my Faith is try to be involed in good activities. We can chose to do good in life and be involved in good acitivities. I try to remember that I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father and act so that I will make him happy with me. I have always tried to honor my parents, and do only those things that would make them happy. I try to be kind when I work and serve in the community. I try to be considerate and patient when I am serving with the Ham Radio Communications.
