Hi I'm Leisel Innes

I grew up in Thatcher, Arizona. I have represented my county as Miss Graham County. I am a musican. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 4'11'' blonde, blue-eyed, ball of energy. I'm a single college student that loves too stay involved in her community and college. I had a unique opportunity too represent my county that I grew up in as Miss Graham County. I entered the contest, came out successful and had the opportunity to be an ambassador, role model, Ribbon Cutter, Guest speaker and volunteer for many things all over Graham County. It was a contract that I signed and dedicated my year to my county. I then got to participate in the Miss Arizona pageant which was also an AMAZING experience. I made a decision long before that no matter what I would never compromise my standards and stand for all the Young Women values that I was taught growing up in the church. I'm greatful for that commitment that I had made long before too never sway because there were many times where I was tempted. At Miss Arizona I was the only member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My modesty shined through every costume that I wore. i was given a sleeveless gown and my director had too let the pageant know that I was going too show up with sleeves on my dress. My platform was Service "Revealing my Beauty Within" I feel like too often we are judged by our outward appearance, our social standing, our education, the money we obtain, or the prizes that we win. We are taught as members our the church that Charity is the pure love of christ and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day,it shall be well with him.

Why I am a Mormon

First of all I'm a mormon because i was raised mormon. My parents are both active members of the church and raised me in this wonderful gospel. Both of my grandparents are converts in there own way and are such GREAT examples too me of how I should live the gosepl. Even though I was raised as a Latter-Day Saint, I have my own conversion story. Everyone should have there own conversion story because we can not live on our parents or friends testimonies forever. We have to have a sure foundation for ourself that we know its true and then boldly declare it in how we speak, act, sing, walk, dance or whatever else we may do. People are watching our everymove and are curious to why "Mormons" act differently. We are genuinely happy people! My conversion story happened my Freshman year of highschool. President Hinckley issued the challenge to the church to read the Book of Mormon by the end of the year which was also going to be Joseph Smith's Birthday. Never in my life had I took a challenge so seriously. I knew that my parents knew it was true as well as my older siblings, grandparents and Church Leaders but I wanted to know for myself. I wanted too have this burning conviciton come over me through the power of the Holy Ghost that this book was true. I love too feel the spirit and I am greaful for this gift that I have received too be my companion as long as I am worthy of it. Sure enough I finished the Book of Mormon and got an answer for myself that It was true. Too this day I can boldy bear my testimony too you that the Book of Mormon is really true. I know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet and that he did restore this church in these Latter-Days. I also know that Satan is real and that he will do all he can to tempt us BUT I also knew that through prayer, through obedience, through scripture study, standing in holy places and being at the right place at the right time that he can have no power over us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by how I treat other people. I have come too a knowledge that our work on this earth is our Heavenly Fathers work. We are his servants, his hands, his disciples, the friend to the lonely person, the giver too the poor, and the comforter too the sick. There is a song which is called "Window To His Love" and a song I try to live by. The first part of it says, "I want to be a window to his live, so when you look at me you can see him. I want too stand so straight and tall that you won't notice me at all." We should constinstenly be trying to bring others closer too our savior christ through our actions. Sometimes people might not even realize we are doing so but feel something different about you and want to be the same way you are. I love too also bear my testimony through song. I was raised in a musical home where singing and playing the piano was crucial and a very important part of my life and for that I am truely greatful. I love how music can move people to repentance, to become better, to make a difference, too rise above too something better. i know that music has power over satan, can instantly bring the spirit, it can testify of truths. Many of my callings in the church have dealt with music. I gained my testimony as a little girl through simple Primary Hymns. I know they are inspired of God and bless members all over the world. I love my savior dearly and I know that "I Am A Child of God and he has sent me here, has given me an earthly home with parents kind and dear." I am who i am becaue I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
