Hi I'm Allan L. Van Ness

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am happily married and the father of three grown children and have seven grandchildren. I am a retired orthodontist, practicing for forty two years. I continue to teach Orthodontic Residents at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. I am a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Washington State Society of Orthodontists, Edward H. Angle Society and Past president of Northshore Rotary Club. I am presently serving mys third term on the City Council of Kenmore, Washington, and serve on several regional governmental committees and boards representing the my city and the Suburban Cities Association. My hobbies include photography, woodworking and radio control model boat sailing. I am member of the Pacific Northwest Model Yacht Club, the Seattle Yacht Club and the American Model Yachting Association. And... I Am A Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

In 1987, I was looking for a reason, a purpose for my life. I always considered myself a Christian, but at this time I began my personal spiritual search for a Church that could help me find meaning for my life. I attended many different denominations. When I attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it felt like home. After my family, the Mormon Church is of prime importance in my life. A wonderful plan for life. A plan for salvation.

How I live my faith

I have served in the Scouting program with the young men of the Church and in Ward leadership positions. The values and teachings of the Mormon faith guide me in relationships in my professional, political and personal interactions. It is a way of life that brings joy and happiness. I am proud to be a Mormon.
