Hi I'm Zac

I'm a Missionary, I'm a cross country runner, I'm a Utah Man, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy being outside. There is nothing like it. This world is such a beautiful place and since I was a little kid I've been bound and determined to explore it all! Mountains hold a special appeal to me. I love hiking, camping, and just getting myself lost in the woods. My favorite place in this world is Island Park, Idaho. My Dad and I are in agreement that it is as close to heaven as you can get on this Earth. My family spends time in Island Park each year fishing, four-wheeling, and looking for bigfoot! I am a huge University of Utah Football fan! If you slap the drum and feather symbol on just about anything I am likely to get it. My family shares in my love of Utah football which makes game nights a big hit at my house. My family means the world to me. They are all so crazy, and weird, and altogether perfectly fitted to me. I know that God put me with them specifically. We weren't thrown together by accident. Everyday I grow to love them more and more.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 8 years old I was baptised and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. At that time I was not fully aware of what my baptism meant and what the significance of it was. As I have gone through my life I have continued to learn more and more of what it meant. When I was baptised I made a promise with my Father in heaven. I promised that I would do my best to exemplify Christ in all I do. I also promised him that I would keep his commandments throughout my life. He promise me in return that He would allow his Spirit to be with me always. As I look back through my life I can see that he has always kept that promise when I have kept my end. I know that God lives and being able to feel his presence whenever I do what he has lead me to do has helped me to build a testimony of him. I have studied and I have prayed to know the truth of this church and this Gospel. As I have continued to live it, the Lord continues to bless me with a knowledge of its truthfulness. My life is more and more blessed as I live more closely the things I am taught and that I learn from ancient and modern Prophets. I am a Mormon because I have felt and experienced for myself that it is the path that my Father in Heaven would have me take. I know that this is Christ's church on the earth and that it is the path that God would have Everyone follow.

How I live my faith

I am currently spending each day sharing the Gospel I know and love with each person I meet as I serve a full time mission for the Lord. For two years I get to devote my life to the betterment of the lives of others. Whether it be by service as small as helping someone carry in their groceries, or as fantastic as helping someone find a stronger more personal relationship with Jesus Christ. These precious moments help me every day to feel closer to my Father in Heaven and his son Jesus Christ.

Are Mormons Christians?

Zac
Definitely Christians! I know that every day of my life I look to Jesus Christ as my example. He lived and died for me. I learn of him through my studies of the Bible and the Book of Mormon. He is the source we look to for salvation and happiness, in this world and in the world to come! As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints we look to Jesus Christ in all things. Because of the the Bible and the Book of Mormon we can know how to follow him. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Zac
It is the GREATEST! The principles taught by ancient and living prophets gives a person so much peace! There is so much to hope for in this life! I come feel that hope because of the teachings available in Christ's church. We live in a way peculiar to the world, but it is a way prescribed by the Savior himself. The life of someone following this prescribed method is filled with peace and direction from the spirit of the Lord. Our lives are centered around Christ and our Families. The two most important things in the world!! We are expected to keep high standards and work hard. We are brought so much joy ourselves we are also expected to share this joy with others through missionary work! Show more Show less
