Hi I'm Jake

I Grew up in the Salt Lake Valley, i love running, Hiking, Sports and my Family, I'm an Uncle, brother and a Son And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 21 year old currently serving a Mission for the church in Pennsylvania! I grew up in the church in a Suburb of Salt Lake City, I Love the mountains! love to fish, hike, or just enjoy the sceanery (i dont know how to spell very well, my english teacher would be disapointed) I love to go running, there is nothing like a long run on a dirt trail listening to music by yourself that is my get away. I am an AVID BYU fan! GO Mighty Cougars! After my mission i Intend on Going to School and obtaining as much Education as possible! The Gospel is my life, I know that Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God and i know that he Did see God the Father and his Son Jesus Christ! i know that he did "in Reality" speak to them just as Moses did "face to face" i have a Testimony of the Book of Mormon, through reading it i know, Jesus IS the Christ! I Love my Family! and i cant wait for the day that i can share with them the Testimony which i have gained in the Service of the lord! I love my mission! and i love Christ! oh yeah...did i mention that i'm a mormon?

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon becuase i know this is the True Church of Christ on the Earth Today, however i havent always known that. I Grew up in the church, i was taught all through Primary about Nephi, Helaman, The Stripling warriors and Other Prophets from the Book of Mormon, I Believed then and i felt the spirit then tell me that the church was true, however, for a time, i took my own path and fell away for a few years. through Middle and High school i wasnt truely converted to the Gospel, I attended Church maybe once a month, i attended Seminary all 4 years, but chose to turn my "do it Switch" to Off instead of On. And i found myself straying Further and Further from the church. I know the Lord Places People in our Path in order to help us, i have a testimony of that, Often times people would ask me "Hey Jake, are you going on a mission?" and i would give them the answer they wanted to hear "yes"...however that was never what i wanted to do. Then a very close friend of mine asked me the same question, and i said "yes" just as i always had. and then she asked...are you Really? and i told her i wasnt sure...i decided to turn to God. She invited me to come with her to do Baptisms for the Dead in the Jordan River Temple in South Jordan Utah. I was hesitant to go simply because, i had Never in my 18 years of existance been into a Temple of God. but i decided ot do it, and it was the Best decision i ever made. In the Temple that day, i felt the spirit wisper to my heart that the church was true, that Joseph Smith Is a prophet of God, and that i Needed to go on a mission. a Year and 2 months later i recieved My mission call. Before opening it i was asked where i wanted to go on my mission if i went Foreign, i Replied "Tonga!" then they Asked what if you go State Side, and i replied "i want to go to Pennsylvania", and hear i am. in Pennsylvania, that is a Tender Mercy of the Lord, That is how i know This is His Church!

How I live my faith

While in High School, I was a member of the Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) and we Often times did service projects in the community, now, this wasnt exactly a church related service opportunity, but for those that know me, i hated doing service! but these opportunities helped me to try and develop that Christlike Attribute. Before i left on my mission, I Taught Sunday School to 12 Year olds (if i remember right) and i loved that! it really helped Prepare me for what i would be doing the next two years of my life. Now i Serve in the greatest calling in the church, i am a Full Time Missionary, and i Love it! i Hope others will look at the person that i am today and not the person i was 3 years ago, i hope they will look at me and say, Jake Really does Love that church. I Love my Savior, and i stirve to live as Christlike as possible, i know i fail all the time, but he is always there to help pick me up, dust off my knees and help me Progress.
