Hi I'm Neil

I'm from Utah, I play basketball, my favorite color is orange, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Well lets see... I love sports (basketball, soccer, snowboarding, and lots of others) and of course hanging out with friends. I play basketball at a Junior College in Wyoming. I just recently returned home from serving a 2 year mission in the beautiful state of Virginia!

Why I am a Mormon

Why I'm a Mormon? I was born into the church, I grew up in the church, but the church wasn't always so important to me. I grew up doing the things that I was supposed to do, learning, going to church, doing scouts, young men activities, I was going through the motions, not getting much out of what I was doing. I progressed in the Priesthood, I became an Eagle Scout, I graduated from Seminary, the things that you are supposed to do... None of it meant anything to me, but looking at it now, I am so grateful for the fact that I did do these things and that I was raised in this church. I went to school in Wyoming, a little Junior College, and that is where everything changed for me. This was a time when I was doing good, and the not so good at the same time, I met some great people who really helped me get on the right path, I went to church every week, I went to Institute most of the time (if I didn't it was because of basketball), and I also attended most of the Singles Ward activities. I was even reading the Book of Mormon and praying, It was all thanks to those friends that I made there, if it wasn't for them I wouldn't have attended church or done the things that I did. I was happy, especially because I was living my dream, playing college basketball! The time came to start getting ready for a mission, I didn't want to go at that time because of all the great things that were happening for me, I was told I would have a scholarship on my return. I got in an argument with my mom over the phone about me going on a mission, the only thing I remember now from that was her telling me to pray and ask God what I was supposed to do, it was the last thing I wanted to do... That night I prayed, that night I received an answer, that night I decided to go on a mission. Why I was a Mormon is because it was what I was born into. Why I am a Mormon now is because I know that it is true because of my own experience, because I have found out for myself that this is what I need to do.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the same things that Christ's Disciples did long ago (Matthew 28:19-20). I live my faith one day at a time, and make that day the very best I can for myself and for those around me.
