Hi I'm Jeff

I'm a Michigander, married father of 4, runner, hockey fan, lake dweller, Italian speaking, sales guy. And yes, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a father of 4 and have been married for 20 years to my incredible wife, also a native Michigander. I grew up in MichiganI and am a graduate of Livonia Stevenson Highschool. I like to run marathons and train on the local parks and trails here in the area. I love playing football and doing cub and boyscouts with my sons. I enjoy following my daughters in all their plays, musicals, and creative arts. Our family loves to travel and spend time together and hosting people in our home. I enjoy just about everything in the state of Michigan! Boating on the water ways, humid summer days, crisp falls, and even the a few weeks of the bitter cold. I'm a Lions, Tigers, and Wings fan and go for the Wolverines during most in-state show downs. I'm a graduate of Brigham Young University and pretty much choose the Cougs in all battles. After having lived over 15 years in the Rockies, its been great to be back home in Michigan.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a Mormon my entire life. My understanding of Heavenly Father's plan for me has been gradual but significant. My experiences have centered around building a deep appreciation and need for the healing power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I have come to this understanding through many on-going faith building moments. Hearing the words of Prophets and applying them in my life has been the model that has worked for me. The Book of Mormon in particular has been the anchor of my faith. I have come to know and understand who is Jesus Christ and how our Father communicates with mankind of earth. Along with the Bible and the words of other inspired people, I have felt confidence and comfort in facing life's opportunities and challenges. It has helped me be a better husband, father, and friend! And knowing God has a plan fo all of us gives me strength. Being a member of the Church I have found a place where I can share not only a common belief, but a group that shares that belief in action. Service to others was a hallmark of the Savior's ministry and the prevailing characteristic of church's members. This is definitely a get-involved church and our family loves it!

How I live my faith

I am the current Bishop of the Walled Lake Ward. A Bishop is like a Pastor in function, however, its not a paid role and not one I was elected to or lobbied for. I have a full time job and do this willingly as a called assignment from authorized priesthood leaders in our area. As a Bishop, I oversee the spiritual and temporal affairs of our congregation. I help build faith of people and make the atonement of Jesus Christ available in the lives of any interested in coming to him. I have done many things in the church and this has been a real spiritual blessing and opportunity in my life. Our ward (congregation) is very active! We have activities and programs for all individuals and families. We have an active youth program and charted units in the Boy Scouts. Our adults are working on spiritual and temporal preparedness activities in 2012 and will be hosting several events from ham radio licensing to a home storage seminar. We invite anyone to participate with us! We need more hands to help us!
