Hi I'm Brahms

I'm from a town called Weare. I'm on a mission in the Phillipines. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of 5 kids. I am an Eagle Scout. I was in Theater in high school. I am learning Tagalog in the Philippines while serving a mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I read the Book of Mormon and prayed about it. Even though I was born into the church, I am active and serving a mission because I know that the Book Of Mormon is the word of God. After praying about it and receiving an answer from God I know that people need to know about it. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and that through him, His church has been restored. Like in the life of Christ, we have 12 Apostles and a living prophet who receives revelation for us in these latter days. I know that through accepting the gospel of Jesus Christ, and being obedient to the commandments of God, we can return to live with God and Jesus Christ in His Kingdom.

How I live my faith

I was a Primary teacher before my mission. I taught 10 and 11 year old kids the teachings and stories of the old and new testament. I am currently serving a mission in the Philippines, Quezon City North Area. On my mission, my purpose is to help people come unto Christ, by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the holy ghost, and enduring to the end. In other words, I help people see the truth of this church by inviting them to live by its teachings.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Brahms
I didn't really know for sure for a while but I will say, it really is as simple as they (the missionaries) say. Read the Book of Mormon, and pray to God about it to know if its His church and doctrine. If that's not enough, go to church. If that's not enough, keep the commandments. By that point, if you are honest/earnestly seeking for the truth, you will know. Listen for the spirit in all of this too. He is quiet, and by that I mean, let nothing else be occupying your mind, and be ready for a yes, and you will hear/feel it. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Brahms
Its awesome! I don't worry about my soul after this life because I know what I need to do to make it to Heavenly Father's presence, there are defined goods and bads which allow me to make most decisions and not worry if it is right, and I have peace in obedience to God's commandments. Most people describe me as a happy person and I feel like its mostly because I know who I am (a Child of God), I know what I'm doing here on Earth with my life (2 Nephi 2:25, it really can be that simple), and I know the end goal of life. I have many opportunities through the church to serve as well and to teach others who are my age and younger (in general). The opportunities to grow are many and that is what really brings us joy, isn't it? Its awesome. Show more Show less
