Hi I'm Tanae

I am graduating in business, I love to dance, and I lived in Finland for a year and a half. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for a year and a few months. I am in love with my husband! I enjoy going on dates with him. We are both graduating from college soon and I am getting a degree in business. As a wife, I have become more interested in cooking yummy meals for our little family. I love to eat delicious meals and great desserts! I also love to dance and I started teaching dance when I was about 13. Additionally I really enjoy snowboarding and water skiing. Growing up on a farm in Washington state, I loved to change water and drive tractors. Furthermore, I spent a year and half in Finland as a missionary in order to teach people about the gospel. I learned the language well and spent a lot of time doing service for people and for the communities there.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know what is taught is true with every ounce of my heart. I am a Mormon because the principles and doctrine taught just make sense. I am a Mormon because living its principles helps me find true happiness and helps me become the person I truly have the potential to be. I am a Mormon because I know there is something bigger out there that I am a part of, I can feel that I am daughter of a Heavenly Father who knows me personally and loves me more than I can imagine. I am a Mormon because it now makes sense why I am here on this earth, where I came from, and where I am going after this life. I am a Mormon because I know the church has the right authority to seal families together not only for time, but for all eternity. I am a Mormon because the Spirit has born witness to me, just through little, but highly significant experiences, that what is taught is true. I am a Mormon because I have not only read the Book of Mormon and seen how it corresponds with the Bible, but I understand it and feel the Spirit and power of it. I am a Mormon because the gospel is centered around my Savior, your Savior, even Jesus Christ, who knows you and me and knows all the sorrows, trials, and troubles you and I have been through if we but only reach out and use His Atoning power. I am a Mormon because I know that the church is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving other people and learning to be like Christ. I read my scriptures everyday in order to understand how to better my life and become like Him. I love to help others and serve them. As I go to church each Sunday, I teach about 30 people about the teachings of Christ or the words of the prophets. I actively participate in the visting teaching program, where I go to other ladies in our church around me and teach them short messages about the gospel and help them with anything they may need. In return, I have ladies who come to me who give a short message and offer to help me with the things I need. I love living my faith and will always continue to "try a little harder to be a little better (President Gordon B. Hinckley). "

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

Tanae
Our purpose in life is to find lasting peace, joy, and happiness as families and to prepare to return to live with God. God is our Father in Heaven. We are quite literally His children, and He loves us more than we can comprehend. He has given us this opportunity in order for us to find peace and happiness. He wants us to learn and grow in order to reach our full potential as sons and daughters of Him. He gives us the opportunity to exercise our agency, or the right to choose. When we choose to do and think about good things, we feel good. Although it sometimes appears otherwise, when we choose wrong things, we don't feel good. When we decide to choose the right things, we are reaching our potential as a son or daughter of our Father in Heaven. From these experiences we learn and grow, we become a better person, we become a better sister/brother/father/mother/son/daughter, we become a better people as a whole, and we become that much closer to becoming like our Father in Heaven. We form better relationships with our families and those around. This is our purpose, to find joy, peace, and happiness as we prepare to return to live with our families and our Heavenly Father again one day. Show more Show less
