Hi I'm Roxanne

I'm married to the love of my life. Mom to six amazing human beings with 4+ awesome grandchildren so far. Called to midwifery.

About Me

I am a Certified Nurse Midwife. Truly all my passions for motherhood, pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding all intersect with providing care as lives and families are being formed. When I am not having visits in the office or at a birth, I love to be out walking surrounded by nature, especially with my Honey. It is in my fifth decade of life that I have completed two walking marathons and my first triathalon. It is an awesome experience to do that which you are not sure you can and have a group of people to cheer you on and rejoice with you as you cross the finish line. Talk about endorphins. My other favorite place is on the water in my Kayak, Firefly. Water has always soothed my soul. It is a very good life which I am so grateful for. Of course the very best are the family gatherings!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up believing being a Mom woud be the most important and fulfilling accomplishment I would ever have. I was right but I was a little over anxious to begin and started with a husband who was not ready to be a father who I was actually trying to save. This brought me to the place of being a single mom of three beautiful girls. I left living in a Jesus People commune to live with my mom and thereby worked in her bar where I met the man who was ready to be Dad to my three daughters and we added our three sons. All along this time I would take the children and effectively church hop, looking for the place where Jesus Christ was embraced and teachings were true. I met a dear friend at a La Leche League meeting who brought me to my first meeting at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I was introduced to the Book of Mormon and was so happy to know there was more scripture. Each lesson taught to me by the missionaries resonated with things I believed but had never heard. The fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ has blessed me in every aspect of my life and I know this church is true.

How I live my faith

My faith has expanded my abilities greatly, the ability to speak in front of large groups, the ability to teach both youth and adults, the ability to see people in the context of their own homes and lives. Each week we attend church and have meetings to renew our commitments to live as Christ taught us, we gather to worship and to learn more. We all take turns speaking and have specific assignments to help us grow and to inspire each other. Scripture study with prayer happens during the week at the church, but of course it is daily at home. This example of how to live a Christ centered life also prompts my involvement within the community I live. Opportunities to do service with community clean ups, serving as a medical emergency responder, participating in community celebrations for holidays. Just being the neighbor we love to have, all aspecs of living by example. It is this service that brings the greatest joy, all because God is Love.
