Hi I'm Shelly.

I’m a wife, mother, book lover, art enthusiast, and I’m a Mormon.

About Me

I’m a stay-at-home (or maybe I should say “stay-in-the-car”) mom, since our four active children keep me pretty busy. When I have spare time, I love to read, and just laugh with friends. I like taking my kids on outings and my husband and I love to go hiking and biking with the kids. I also love to bake, and I love to travel.

Why I am a Mormon

My wonderful parents raised me and my 11 brothers and sisters in the gospel. I always have appreciated the teachings and way of life and believed that the restored gospel of Jesus Christ was true. As I grew up, I felt the warm, peaceful, presence of the Holy Ghost many times, teaching and leading me. Later, when I was grown and after living the gospel and exercising my faith for many years, I received an undeniable witness through the Spirit that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is completely true. I can testify that if we have faith in Jesus Christ and in His restored gospel, and act on that faith--with patience--we will receive the answers for which we’re searching.

How I live my faith

I live my faith mainly in the day to day little things. Praying daily by myself and with my family, studying the scriptures, trying, as well as teaching my children to try to be like Jesus. I try to watch for ways I can serve others, even in little ways. Currently, I serve as our ward primary president, which means I’m responsible to oversee the gospel classes and activities for children ages 18 months to 12 years. I also have the fun opportunity to visit teach (code for befriend and help) three other women in our ward. All of these things are so rewarding and fill me with a sense of peace and happiness that I don’t find from other pursuits. I’ve found that the times when I am striving to learn the gospel and serve others are the times when I feel closest to my Savior, Jesus Christ.
