Hi I'm Eduardo Cavazos

I love going to church, I'm from Texas, I am a missionary in the Great Ventura California Mission and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated with a BS in Speech-language Pathology from UT at Austin! I was baptized November 12, 2011! I Enjoy going to the institute to learn about our savior and the Gospel in general. My favorite hobby is to play my saxophone because it seems to help me express myself in a way that I can't any way else. I am currently serving a mission for our Heavenly Father in the Great California Ventura Mission. My favorite color is brown, I love this church, and I am a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder-Day Saints is the one and only true church of God! How I came to learn about the Gospel is a very interesting story; My best friend, (which is also a convert) Lupita, and I were heading out of our apartment to go visit home for the weekend and as we were leaving I was telling Lupita how grateful I was towards God for giving me all the blessings I had. I went on to say, "I wish church would come to us instead of us going to church!" and as we were walking out, our Elders knocked on our door and asked if we wanted to learn more about God! Of course I let them in since i had just finished saying how grateful I was towards our Heavenly Father. One thing led to another and by the time I knew it, I was hooked with the fullness of the Gospel and I decided to get baptized with my best friend of 7 years. My family once asked if it were any other religion that knocked on my door, would I have converted as well? My response was, "No, because other religions don't have The Book of Mormon and that is what separates our church from the rest and what gave me a testimony about this church in particular, among other things of course."

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading the scriptures every day and praying in the morning and at night! I also love to serve others, and I am currently doing so by serving a mission. I also live my faith by loving what I do and doing what I love. I'd like to think that I live my faith by being a constant example of what it means to be a man of God and a representative of Jesus Christ everywhere and anytime.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Eduardo Cavazos
As a convert to the church I know that the only way to know if this church is true is if you try it. Now, what does that entail? Well, I would like to share an analogy with you so please follow me. Lets pretend I baked this great cake and I am claiming that this cake is the best tasting cake you will ever taste! Of course, I will go on and on telling you why this cake is the best and why you should partake of it, however, you won't really know until you cut a piece of that cake and try it. Now lets think about it, when you cut the cake its like you're reading The Book of Mormon. Then, by praying about what you are reading and experiencing its as if you were tasting the cake. Don't forget to listen to the Holy Ghost! This way you won't have to take my word for it, instead you can try it and see if this cake really is the best tasting cake you have ever tasted. Furthermore, the feelings that one feels as one reads the Book of Mormon are indescribable, personally I have never felt anything like that until I started reading The Book of Mormon and I urge anyone who hasn't read it, to read it!
