Hi I'm Kayla

I'm a junior in high school, I love to write, I have two younger brothers, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Writing and reading take up most of my free time. I write and read fiction stories when I can. You will almost always see me with a story I'm writing under my arm or nearby. I love to act, and have since middle school- being on stage makes me feel comfortable. I love to read Shakespeare specifically. Math is one of my stronger subjects at school. After high school, I plan on going to college to become a high school math teacher, but hopefully a fiction author first and foremost. One of my biggest dreams is to become a wife and mother. My parents got divorced a year ago. I love hanging out with my friends like any other teenager. I'm not as open or courageous as I wish I could be, but I am a good shoulder to lean on and an ear to listen. I try to be the best example to my younger brothers, as their oldest and only sister.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the church. My parents and grandparents set the best example they could for me while I was growing up. I loved learning the stories of the scriptures. I learned as I grew up and soon understood why I loved being in the church- everything made sense. When I was in my teenager years, I learned for myself that the church is true- and do not rely on my parents to support my faith in the church.

How I live my faith

Every morning before school, i go to seminary (scripture study class) at 5:45 in the morning. I keep my scriptures on my iPod so I always have them close by. My friends are now used to my standards as a church member and try not to go against my standards when I am around. Whenever anyone asks me a question about the church, I answer it as truthfully as I can. I do not swear at all. I do not drink any alcoholic beverages or drugs-never have and never will. I do not wear sleeveless dresses or shirts, and my shorts and skirts go to my knees. I do not have a tattoo and never will.
