Hi I'm Michael Osborn

At age 10, I had open heart surgery. Currently, I am very avid cyclist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy mountain biking, long distance cycling, soccer, camping, and spending time with my family. I like creating ideas, illustrating and making others ideas come alive. When I was 10 years old I had open heart surgery. I felt very fragile, until my Scout Master told me I could do anything I set my mind to do. From then on I tried a variety of activities. I have run a marathon, cycled in 2 century rides and mountain bikes in high elevation in Utah, Colorado and Arizona. I am married and have 5 children. I enjoy growing a garden and sharing the produce with others.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in Illinois my mother's father was a Methodist minister and we casually attended services. I remember one Easter service the minister asked all the children to come up the stage and sit on the steps. He talked to us about the Jesus Christ and what he has done for us. He showed us a photo of the Savior with little children gathered around Him. As he talked for the first time I really felt something important about Jesus and that I should find out more about Him. We attended a few more Sunday's but the classes and sermons didn't seem fulfilling. Years later two missionaries knocked on our door and were an answer to my moms prayers and to mine. as they talked the spoke of Jesus and my family accepted the gospel and were baptized. Ever since I have experienced the closeness of the Savior in my life. As I serve in his church I find great joy and completeness. I have found the answers to who I am, why I am here, and what will happen after this life through the teaching in The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

Each day I start with personal prayer and end it the same way. I thank my Heavenly Father for each challenge I face, trusting in him to help me to grow through each experience life holds. I obey the Word of Wisdom to keep my body healthy and strong. I study the scriptures on my lunch break to help me get through the day. I enjoy serving those who are in need. I has served as a Scout Master in the Boy Scouts of America. I feel good when I am helping others.
