Hi I'm Lily

I worked in Sales for 10 years, but am now a stay-at-home mom. I enjoy gardening and Genealogy Research. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I spent my childhood in New York and New Jersey. I went to college and got a Bachelor's degree with a Major in Business. I am active in local politics and Historical Preservation. I enjoy gardening, playing computer games, and reading Mystery books. I collect Boyd's Bears and nutcrackers. I have been married for 12 years and am the mother of 2 kids. I am currently a stay-at-home mom, but am trying to become a professional Genealogist.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up I attended Presbyterian and United Methodist churches, but felt that something was missing. When I met my husband he invited me to attend the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. There are a lot of families with kids similar in age with mine, and many opportunities to get involved in activities (cooking, yoga, crafts, Bible study, etc). I really appreciate having living Prophets that can receive revelation; as it helps me live in the modern world.

How I live my faith

I have a church calling in the Young Women's organization, which is like the youth groups I used to attend at a United Methodist church. I teach "Sunday school" lessons and sometimes I chaperone at social activities. I used to volunteer in the Family History Center, helping people with their Genealogy research. I also attend a weekly bible study group and visit with other church members in their homes each month.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Yes, the Bible is a sacred holy record and is the word of God. I read it at least once a week, like many Christians. Show more Show less
