Hi I'm Dennis White

I was born and raised in Columbus Indiana. I also worked and raised a family in Columbus. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am retired from Indiana University. I spend about 30 hours per week serving in the Mormon Church. I also enjoy hiking, bicycling and gardening. I have 7 children and 10 grandchildren. The children are spread all over the world and I enjoy traveling to them.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were members and I grew up in the church. As I started a family I became aware of the blessings of being a member of the church. The Book of Mormon has been the most influential teacher for myself and family. It testifies most clearly that Jesus is my savior. I love the teachings of the Book of Mormon. It has guided me and my children. My wife died when the children were still at home. We read the book every day. The Book of Mormon gave us the foundation we needed to face our challenges and succeed. The children have all maintained their faith in God and are active in the faith.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by giving service to others. I participate two days per week in our welfare program distributing food to the needy of our faith as well to congregations not of our own faith. I am assigned 5 families in my congregation to visit and help support both spiritually and physically each month. I enjoy visiting these families. I also visit a elderly lady in a nursing home each Sunday with a young friend to deliver the Sacrament of bread and water as well as deliver a spiritual message
