Hi I'm Kiara

I'm an adventurer. I'm a joker. I'm a little crazy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the second oldest in my family. I have one older sister, a younger sister, and a younger brother. My mom is my best friend and my dad is the ultimate dad, I love them both very much they have taught me so much. I love being with my family and we have so much fun together. I love being outside and doing anything that involves physical activity!! Things like mountain biking, hiking, and sports of any kind! I really like learning new things and finding out why certain things work, got that from my dad! I have a desire to work with disabled kids and can't wait to continue my education at BYU-Idaho and see what the future holds. I will be taking off two years of school starting October 2013 to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I will be serving in the California San Francisco/Oakland mission, speaking Spanish. I am eager to get out and teach the people of California.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes sense. I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, or a mormon, my whole life. I have always been taught what being a mormon means, and when I look back on all I have learned and all that I have gone through all I can think is, being mormon makes sense. I have the knowledge that I am not alone ever, any trial, any experience, anything, my Savior is there with me, He knows what I am going through. I am a Mormon because it brings happiness to my life. Friends that have come over to my house that are not Mormons have always commented on the feeling of peace and happiness when they enter my home. That is the gospel touching our lives. I am a Mormon because I know that this is the way to return home to my Heavenly Father. I want to return to Him so badly and this is the way to do it. I have found out for myself that the companionship of my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ are two of the most important relationships I will ever have. I have had to find out for myself as an individual that God created this earth for me to enjoy and for me to progress as his Heavenly child. Through the experiences I have had I have found my individual worth and I have decided to try and become as Christlike as possible. I love this gospel and all it has given me.

How I live my faith

Growing up mormon I have always been given examples of how to live with faith. Sometimes we do not always know what life is going to throw at us. My family has experienced things that we could only have gotten through with faith. My father experience unemployment for about a year and in that time he decided to go back to school, my mother needed to go back to work, my older sister was finishing up college, and I was preparing to leave for college. All these commitments that needed to be taken care of and I had no idea how they were going to get done, but my mother always told me, “Sometimes we just need to have faith”. I have kept that motto throughout life, sometimes it is just easier for us to have faith. When I decided to go on a mission, all I could have was faith. My family wasn’t expecting to send me off on a mission and I wasn’t sure if we could manage but I prayed and I knew it was the right thing to do, and so I am going with a heart full of faith. I live my faith with a mind and heart centered around Jesus Christ. He will guide me and strengthen me through the times I am unsure what to do or if I cannot handle a trial placed in my life. I live my faith so that I can be happy.
