Hi I'm Emily

I'm a student. I'm a sister. I'm a daughter. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student, trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. I've changed my mind probably 20 times since I started college. I am a really random person. I can relate any situation to a show tune. I am that kid that sings her thoughts. I love music and I love the way it relates to every day life. I'm not shy and I'm not outgoing. I'm kind of just in the middle. I was introduced to the church almost 4 years ago, which is amazing to me. Every day is a huge blessing to me. I'm constantly trying to become more grateful for the blessings in my life. I love to make other people happy. Bringing a smile to someone else's face is my daily goal. I love my family. I'm the only person in my family who is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, so every day is a new way to set an example.

Why I am a Mormon

I met the missionaries my freshman year of college after meeting and befriending a member of the church that same semester. It didn't take me long to recognize the Spirit around the missionaries. I am so thankful that they knocked on my door. I am a Mormon because the church is true. I believe that with all of my heart and mind. I know that the Gospel was restored to the Earth. I'm a Mormon because I've felt the Spirit that comes when living the principles of the Gospel. I've felt the Spirit that comes through meeting with the missionaries and reading the Scriptures. I am a Mormon because I have prayed to Heavenly Father to know the truth of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and felt the Holy Ghost confirm the things which I was taught.

How I live my faith

I serve in a calling that allows me to invite all kinds of people to activities. I'm constantly searching for new ways to introduce people to the Gospel in fun, unobtrusive ways. I view every day as a new chance to live my example of Jesus Christ's influence in my life. I mess up and make mistakes, but that is just another way to show others that Christ was the only perfect person. I try to show everyone the joy that has come into my life since I joined the church. Sometimes it is hard to follow the counsel we've been given, but these times are just great ways to grow! Sometimes I do have to skip on hanging out with certain friends, going to certain activities, because I know they will be temptations to me, but I am strengthened during these times by promises of blessings told of in the Scriptures.

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

Emily
Baptism is necessary to one day return to our Heavenly Father. When we are baptized, we make a promise with the Lord to keep his commandments and take upon us the name of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
