Hi I'm Miguel

I can juggle, like to play in huge piles of leaves, and I'm a missionary in North Carolina! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Major hobbies are hiking, rock climbing, repelling, scuba diving, reading (if i find a good book), and shooting. In my town shooting is a pretty big thing so me and my friends would take out some guns and buy exploding targets and have some fun. One time one of my friends had an old dryer that didn't work so we bought a big exploding target and went up to a cinder pit a few miles from town. When we shot it the dryer flew 40 feet in the air and broke into 3 peices. As for college I wa in a program called Upward Bound so i took college courses over the summer. I plan on majoring in psychology and possibly going to med school.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS, or Mormon, faith and so thats how it was introduced into my life, but I didn't start really beleiving in the church until i was about 15-16. I always attended seminary (religious class focusing on the scriptures) but never really participated just sat there because my parents expected me to, but after a year and a half i started listening in seminary, because I listened I began to desire to know if it was true. In order to obtain the answer I began reading The Book of Mormon as I read I could feel a difference in my life. I began to feel a peace in my life that wasnt there before. I began to feel a joy in my life that was not there before. This peace, this joy is how someone can know its true.

How I live my faith

In my youth groups in the church we have done many service projects for the elderly. There is an old lady in my hometown that was increadibly lonely so me and my friends would stop buy ever few weeks and talk to her for a little while. I know that doesnt seem like much but when I saw the look on her face it was easy to tell it was important for her. I have never done anything amazing like start an orphanage or travel to far places to help people, but with out my faith in this church I would be lost. I try to help people that need it, but the most profound thing I am doing is serving as a full time missionary going out to teach people about the plan god has for them, where we come from, why we are here, and where we are going.
