Hi I'm Kathryn

I'm a Mormon. My husband and I are blessed with three wonderful sons.

About Me

I enjoy playing the cello and love to read. After graduating from ASU I worked in Japan for a year. When I was 21 I served a full time mission in Pusan, Korea. My husband Lance graduated with his BA and MBA from the U of A and earned his juris doctrate from USC. Lance served a mission in Florida and enjoys politics and is an avid reader. We were married in the Mesa, Arizona temple and have 3 amazing boys and feel very blessed.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family where my parents were married in the Manti temple and had nine children. Growing up in the Church of Jesus Chirst of Latter-Day Saints the family is the focus and we had many fun camping trips and outdoor activities. My dad was a convert at age 29. I have read the Book of Mormon many times and continue to do so today. I know that as I read and study the Book of Mormon I receive revelation that is important to me and my family. I know that Heavenly Father is very real and my Savior Jesus Christ is near. He often carries my burdens when I put my trust in him. I am ever grateful for the temple and as I attend I do draw nearer to my Heavenly Father and my Savior. I know the gift of the Holy Ghost is very real and as we constantly repent and try to obey the commandments and live as the Savior taught I am more in tune with the messages I get from the Holy Ghost. I'm grateful for my family and feel that I have been and continue to be blessed with much more than I deserve. I know that Joseph Smith did see Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost and did translate the Book of Mormon and was the first Latter-Day Prophet. I know that President Monson is our current latter day prophet and that he will not lead us astray. I feel very grateful to have a prophet on the earth to lead and guide us as through difficult times. Life is great and it is important to live in the present and enjoy each day!

How I live my faith

I'm currently a primary teacher and enjoy seeing the children each week. I also visit teach two sisters in our ward. Now that my youngest is in school I go down to my husband's office while they are in school and help out with his firm. Sometimes with busy schedules for visiting teaching I will mail a letter to the sisters I visit or touch base with them at church. I have two sisters that visit me in the evenings, since they are working. We have family scripture study each morning and morning prayer. During scripture study we read a page from the Book of Mormon. I do believe that through reading the Book of Mormon we draw closer to the Lord. I help out in my sons class twice a month and enjoy seeing other children in his class.
