Hi I'm Justin

I am from South Carolina. I run my own business. I love football and my wife and 2 girls (not in that order). I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have spent most of my life in South Carolina. I grew up near the coast and studied in the "upstate" of South Carolina at Clemson University. South Carolina is great because we like to spend time at the beach and in the intercoastal waterways, and we love the mountains, lakes and beauty of the upstate. My wife and I met while I was at Clemson. She and I are both now graduates and have been married for six years and now have added 2 little girls, both under the age of 3. The girls are a full time job, but the return on investment is great. They bring us so much more joy than we could have imagined. I, like most others in the south, love football. I'm sad to say I went to Clemson to watch football, but am happy to say I earned my accounting degree in the process. I love history, politics, sports, outdoor activities and good books. I speak Portuguese, and love learning about and getting to know different people from different cultures.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon family. During my youth, I loved growing up in an environment that was centered around the teachings of Jesus Christ. Family was always top priority for my Father, my Mother and my brothers and sisters. We had the security of knowing we would always be together and that our parents would always be there for us. During my youth, we had family home meetings weekly where my parents, or brothers and sisters would teach lessons about Christ. We would sing songs, play games and eat snacks. These were special times and was an opportunity to learn about important aspects of life. When I was 19, I learned for myself of the truthfullness of this gospel. I could never deny what I was able to learn. Knowing this, I decided to serve a two year mission for the church. I was called and served in Ribeirao Preto, Brazil in the state of Sao Paulo. I learned of the joy that service to my fellow man could bring to my life. This is something I'll use for the rest of my life. Now with my own family, I am able to teach them the plan of happiness. I teach them about Christ, family, service and other ways to be happy in this life. I teach them that the we can receive Eternal Life through Jesus Christ. I love this Gospel. I love having an opportunity to have a family that will be together forever. I love my Father in Heaven and the sacrifice that was made by Jesus Christ for my happiness and well being. I know this gospel is true. That's why I am Mormon.

How I live my faith

Members of our church are called to different assignments. In my area, I am in charge of the 11 year old boy scouts. My job is to help the scouts progress to reach "Eagle Scout" level. I meet with the scouts on Wednesdays and teach them different skills in leadership, survival, and first aid. We go on campouts and do acts of service in our local community. I also serve as our area's "executive secretary". In this role, I work with the local leadership in scheduling events, working with local welfare projects, and other administrative work.
