Hi I'm Ragan

I'm a mother of four lovely children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a stay-at-home mom with a dedicated husband and four wonderful children. Being a mother can be very challenging and exhausting. Children require a great degree of patience and wisdom to care for. But I love being a mother. I look forward to the time when we sing and dance together, read books, build things and pretend together, watch documentaries and movies, and try to figure out what to cook for the next meal. Music and nature are two things that really make life beautiful for me. I love to get to know all the people who live around me. I love big crowds of people and one-on-one time to really get to know someone. I love learning and education. I hope that someday I can help improve education.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised LDS. But when I was a teenager I started to really question if what I was being taught was really true. I began exploring other ideas and religions. I really believed that I should be able to do whatever I wanted and no one should be able to tell me anything different. I found myself following a path that wasn't taking me where I wanted to end up in life. I wasn't very happy. At age 17, I prayed with all my heart for Heavenly Father to help me. In all his mercy and love, He reached into my life and pulled me out of the dark abyss I had found myself in. I learned that Heavenly Father loved me just the way I was, but he wanted me to become the person He knew I could be and not settle for anything less. I learned that what I chose to do with my life affected all the people around me and that when I made decisions I needed to think of more people than just myself. I learned that doing whatever I want doesn’t bring happiness. I found that as I followed the Lord he guided me to where I really did want to be. Following the laws of God gives me the freedom to achieve what I really want. I am so thankful for the doctrine of eternal marriage and families. That is what I really wanted… to be with the ones I love forever and to have peace in my heart. I am so thankful for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I think of the gospel as an umbrella from the rain, like a light in the darkness. like a fire in the cold weather. I try to be observant of the people around me and share that warmth with others wherever I am. I believe in two things: participate and contribute. I try to attend and support church functions and help whenever I am able. I try to do my part when assignments are given to me. I am currently serving my fellow church members by helping them to find resources and discussion about missionary work. I spend a lot of time teaching my own children about the gospel. Because my children are still small, I tend to serve my fellowmen in quiet ways. Like making dinners for people in need, giving people rides places, smiling at people, calling people, and helping out when there is a trial in someone's life.
