Hi I'm Melissa

I'm a Registered Nurse, a Mother of three kids, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, a mom, and a nurse. I work part time at the local hospital where I live working 1 12 hr shift a week and am mostly home with my kids. I love being a mom and although it is exhausting and difficult at times, I find great joy in it. I enjoy being in the outdoors especially hiking or huckleberry picking. I exercise mostly every day with a good friend early in the morning and find that my days go much better if I can get some exercise. I appreciate good wholesome food and love trying new recipes that are healthy for my family. I do have a sweet tooth and love anything chocolate! I enjoy reading, blogging, making family videos and digital scrapbooking.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in the power of the Priesthood and the restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ. I know that a prophet leads and guides us today as in days of old. I am a Mormon because I believe in the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon translated by the Prophet Joseph Smith. I am a Mormon because I love my family and know that through saving ordinances performed in LDS temples I can be reunited with my family again some day. Most importantly I am a Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Jesus Christ is central to the Mormon faith.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church meetings weekly on Sunday and teaching the 7 and 8 year old children with my husband. I try to read the scriptures every day with my family and say my daily prayers. I do my best as a parent to teach my children the values and faith I hold to. Weekly we have a family night where we discus a gospel principle with the kids and do a fun activity together.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is written by many ancient prophets. It contains another testimony of Jesus Christ and his visit to the people in America. It was complied by the prophet Mormon, who the book is named after, and then translated into the English language by the modern day prophet, Joseph Smith. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No, we do not worship Joseph Smith. We acknowledge him as the Lord's prophet to bring about the Restoration of Christ's church in the later days. We worship God and his Son Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
