Hi I'm Alex Probert
I'm an Aussie and adventure seeking, have a good time junkie. I love to explore new places and meet new people! and I'm a Mormon.
I was born in Australia and moved to the United States when I was 6. We moved because of better educational opportunites for my older handicapped brother. My brother is my everything. I love him with all my heart and have learned so much from him. I graduated in Social Work and have worked in the youth residential treatment center setting for over the last year and love it. There is something about empowering others to realize their own self-worth and helping them find who they truly are! I'm your typical crafty female! I love to sew and make things! I have a creative eye and can make something out of nothing. I'm a cook and a volleyball junkie. These two things will put the biggest smile on my face. Thrift stores are one of my favorite things in the world. I love to travel and get to know the culture of the place I am visiting! I feel like I have been so blessed in my life and I want to give back! I worked for 3 months in a orphanage in Ecaudor, which changed my LIFE! I have been a apart of an inner city chicago boys program and have learned so much through their examples and stories. I want to make a difference in the world and bring smiles to others faces. I want to help lift and encourage others to see their potential and to know they can over come their circumstances. I love jokes and laughter. Life is a gift, so go out and live it! The world is an amazing place just waiting for me to discover it! I'm a hopefully optomistic glass half-full type of girl who loves GOD!
Why I am a Mormon
I am a mormon because being a mormon brings a kind of happiness you cannot find anywhere else! It is through my savior Jesus Christ that I find true joy and hope in this dark world that we live in! I know that he suffered and died for my sins, so I can return to live with my Father in Heaven again! God is GOOD he knows us individually and can guide our lives if we but turn to him. Life isn't always easy, My older brother has cerebral palsy, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer this year. I have a little brother who died shortly after beening born. Yeah I could sit back and say that life isn't fair, but I choose not to. I choose to look at the brightness and hope that can come through the gospel of Jesus Chirst. I choose to love and learn and grow and turn my desires towards helping and lifting others. I take comfort in the fact that if we but live righteously everything that is unfair about this life can be fixed in the next. Why? because we have a Father in Heaven who loves us more than anything. That He sent His Son, His beloved Son to die for not only me, but you too! That by this atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ we can be made whole! I look forward to that day when I can witness my brother being made whole. That I too can feel the holes in the saviors hands and feet. Christ lives, he is our redeemer. Come unto him and find everlasting life! I can't promise that being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder-day Saints means your life isn't going to be hard. It will be, but I can promise you is in those moments where you feel like your can't go on, there is someone who can lift you in ways your never thought possible. That is our Father in Heaven. He has given us the gift of prayer that if we just go to him and share the feelings of our heart,s that he will show us what we need to do to be happier, to repent and to come unto him. I have prayed and I have seen answers to prayers, felt love, been lifted and made strong! and I testify you can too!
How I live my faith
I am a missionary. I love this gospel so much and I have put my life on hold for 18 months and have devoted that time to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I want to share this good news with others! That they too can come to this understanding if they but ask in faith!
