Hi I'm Kristen

I am married and a mom to 5 young children. I grew up in California and am now raising my family in Idaho. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I have been married for 13 years and have five children ranging in age from 18 months to 12. I love my family and my greatest joy in life comes from spending time with them. Some of my favorite past times are bike riding, swimming, hiking, and gardening. I love the outdoors and love to travel and see new places. I also enjoy playing the guitar and teaching guitar lessons. I graduated from college with a Health Education degree but am putting a career on hold while I am raising my children.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true and that it can be our greatest source for lasting happiness in this life. The gospel helps me to know who I am, where I came from and what my goals should be. The gospel allows me to be sealed to my family forever. What a great blessing this is!! My family is my greatest source of joy and I am so blessed to know that our relationships that we have with our families can be eternal and not end with death. Our family has had many great challenges in the last year where we have experienced much tragedy. All within a year our 5th baby was born prematurely with some health problems, my mother-in-law passed away suddenly, my 15 year-old nephew was killed in a farming accident and my 3 year old son was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder. I cannot imagine going through these hard times without the knowledge of the gospel!! Through all of this tragedy my family was able to turn to our Savior and be strengthened. Though these challenges were certainly difficult, we have grown as a family and learned how precious our family relationships are. I have also come to know that our Father in Heaven knows and loves us all individually. Even in our hardest days, we are not left comfortless. Our Heavenly Father is always there and can and will comfort us if we let him.

How I live my faith

Right now I am the president of our church's organization for women in my ward. I have been amazed by watching all of the selfless acts of charity that occur unnoticed. These ladies that I work with spend much of their time serving other members of our church and community. They do it without pay or recognition. They do it because they love the Lord and want to serve Him by serving others. There is still so much good in our world!! That is why I give so much of my time to serving in this and many other organizations because I am trying to be like my Savior, and I find much happiness as I serve others and help lighten their burdens along they way as many have done for me also. The gospel helps me to want to be the best that I can. This is a proccess that I am constantly working on. The gospel helps me to know what my priorities are. Everyday I pray to my Heavenly Father and read the scriptures to help me keep on track to my goal of living to my potential and someday returning to my Heavenly Father worthy to be in His presence. I believe in Christ. I know that my Savior Jesus Christ lived and died for me, and I try to do my best to be like Him and serve my neighbors and friends and to help others find the same happiness in life that I have found.
