Hi I'm Bethany

I grew up in Southern California. I am a college student at Brigham Young University-Hawaii. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a person who loves to go on adventures. I love to surf, go and be at the beach, and to hike trails. I am married to a wonderful man, who is my best friend. I am a college student studying Graphic Design. I love to design. It is my favorite thing. I love to sew and make up new things. I like to sing and to be active daily, exercising or swimming. I am very fond of cooking and always trying to find new recipes. I like to go out with my husband and be in company with good friends. I am a happy person who likes to stay positive when times get rough.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family. I was brought up to live the commandments and standards of the gospel. My family has gone to church every Sunday. I was brought up reading the scriptures (King James version of the Bible, The Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, & Pearl of Great Price). I was taught to pray morning and evening with the family as well as my own personal prayers. My family almost always had Family Home Evening on a Monday night which included an opening prayer, a song, a spiritual lesson/Activity, a Treat/Dessert, and a closing prayer. Those Monday night are what i lived for and I still do now that as I am married. It is so important for my husband and I to have that Monday night to ourselves or invite friends over and have this activity with them. I have always had high standards even when times were rough and I felt blessed. Even though I grew up in an LDS family, I knew that I had to gain my own testimony. I had the opportunity to go to EFY (Especially For Youth Camp) an LDS Camp. I was about 14 and I already knew that the gospel was true but I had a small testimony. After going to this camp It made me have a stronger testimony and by sharing my testimony often I know that it keeps growing. I would like to bear my testimony that Heavenly Father loves each and everyone of us. We are not alone he knows us and he wants the best for his children. I am so grateful for the atonement of Jesus Christ and that he took upon my sins and also the sins of the world. I am grateful for Joseph smith and the Book of Mormon and how the church was restored through Joseph Smith. I am grateful for a prophet in these latter days, President Thomas S. Monson and all the other general authorities of the church and their guidance and love. I am so thankful for my husband and for temple marriage so that our family can be together for eternity and for the plan of Salvation. I say these things, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by having Family Home Evenings on Monday nights. I attend church every sunday and I help out wherever I can. I go visit some sisters in my ward to go see how they are doing and if they need help in any way. I try and give them a spiritual message. I try my best to be confident and talk to non-members and try to tell them about the Mormon church. I have done genealogy to see my family tree and figure out who my great great great grandparents were. It is really neat to help out others to figure out how their genealogy too. I have helped out with community clean ups that the Church has organized.
