Hi I'm Andrea

I am a college student. A returned missionary. I love to dance and have fun. I play soccer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student where I am studying to be an Elementary Teacher. I took the past 18 months off of school and I have recently returned home from a full-time mission to Barcelona, Spain. I loved my mission with everything that I am. Being able to help someone feel the love that God has for them, even for just a moment, made everyday worth it. I love to have fun. I love to dance and I dont care who is watching. I am bold and I am not afraid to tell you what is on my mind. I love my family. They mean everything to me. I love to take pictures. To me everyday is an adventure and wasting our time being bored is out of the question. In my book embarrassing moments dont exist. I am who i am and I am proud of who the Lord has helped me become. Laughing is my favorite hobby. The key to happiness in this crazy life is to serve others. There is always someone having a harder day than we are and if we can do something to help them have a better day, we will soon forget why we thought our day was so bad. I know I am a daughter of God and anything we want to do in this life, is possible...if we have the Lord holdiong our hand every step of the way. Sometimes we just need to let Him.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I know that God lives. I have prayed. I have asked God the questions of my soul. And i have recieved answers. I am Mormon becasue I love how i feel. I feel at peace with my life. I have a deep understanding of happiness. REAL happiness. I know what it feels like to hurt but becasue of my understanding of Christ and what he he for us, i also understand true and lasting joy. There is so much more to this life than clothes, make-up, competition, cars, or money. We have a purpose. We are here for a reason. When we embrace that we will someday see our God again, things of this world loose their draw. We need some of those things in our lives but if we put God first, all those little things will fall into place. Everyday we are working toward preparing to look into the eyes of our Maker one day and having Him tell us, "Well done." I love my religion and I proud to say that I am a Christian and that I love serving Christ each day of my life. I am a Mormon becasue i know it is true.

How I live my faith

I am a leader for the young girls in my congregation. I work as a counselor for a summer youth camp called Especially For Youth. We spend a week at a time all over the countryhelping youth see that serving and loving God is not only important but can also be fun. I live my faith by loving others. We are no better than anyone else. We are ALL children of a loving Father in Heaven. As we love everyone around us, despite race, economic standing, the clothes that they wear or the job that they have we will see that we are all alike. We all want to find happiness in the time that we have on this earth. He can help others be happy as we show love for those around us everyday.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Andrea
All members of the church are not "required" to serve a mission. Worthy young men are encouraged to serve and young women are welcome. As a girl and having served a mission sometimes I kind of wish it were required for all members to serve. I say that only becasue the knowledge and self-understanding that I learned as a missionary has blessed my life and helped me be a stonger, happier, and more well rounded person. Some people think a mission is a burden, or a task to be fulfilled; but really, a mission is a priviledge and an invitaion to blessings and life lessons that cant be understood in many other circumstances. A mission is optional but in my opinion it it one of the best options for someone to make. Show more Show less
