Hi I'm Kyle

Kentucky and New York are my homes. I am an older brother and a current college student at BYU. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love physical activities. I am currently Swimming and training with Crossfit. Swimming is my favorite sport though. I started swimming two years ago and after swimming for a year I went to the state competition for my state. I competed in the 200 medley, 200 freestyle, and 400 freestyle relays. It excites me to watch or listen about any freestyle event because that is what I do best. The outdoors are also amazing. I love to be able to hike, camp, rock climb, or nearly any other outdoor activity. The beauty that God has created is absolutely amazing and is something that always brings peace to my soul. There really is no other feeling that compares to the outdoors. I am currently a college student at one of the BYU universities. I love this setting and would not trade this opportunity for the world. I am studying mechanical engineering for the love I have for math, science, and problem solving. It is amazing to see how things work and move in this world. Being a student id so much fun. The people I am able to meet from all around the world is awesome. I have made countless friends who love this Gospel as much as I do. I will soon be going on a mission to serve the Lord and to bring others to the joy I have in my life. I have prepared my life for this opportunity and hope to please the Lord with these actions. I hope to be able to set an example for my six younger siblings who are now back at home.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member my whole life but it was not until the past few years that I truly came to love this church for what it is. As a teenager I struggled a lot with myself and temptations that were around me. I can see now how far from reality I had become but growing up in the church gave me that small foundation of Christ in my life. I never doubted that His gospel as true but never showed any belief on it. After my parents found out al that I was doing was the point when my life started to change. The point that I now see was when Christ stepped in and said "that is enough." It has been a work in progress since those two years ago and forever will be, but not in a recovery type of way. While I have recovered from those things in my past I know how much I need to do to become like my Savior. It is a life long process of cleansing ourselves of our natural man that is an enemy to God. We cannot live with our Father again in this fallen state but through Christ we can. It is through this love that our Father and Christ have for us that I am a Mormon. The joy that I can feel everyday is beyond description. There is nothing else that brings me even close to it. I can see His love all around me in my life. It shows itself in every aspect of my life from the six siblings I have and the rest of my wonderful family to the college I attend to the abilities that I have been given that I can use everyday of my life. I can tell the Lords love in my life and that He wants me hear on this earth for a purpose. The wonders of the Lord are great and beyond measure. He is in all of our lives and in every little things we do and see. It is simply up to us to see it.

How I live my faith

I strive to all that I can for those around me an in my community. Being in one of the church's universities I am able to serve in so many ways. We have service projects on a regular basis and serve one another on a daily basis. What is really cool about a church school is that almost everything here is run by the students. Almost every activity is run by them. The last activity I helped with was a tri-a-tri which was a small triathlon. In this I helped competitors go to the next event timing them as they went. I also was able to participate in it. It was a ton of fun to do. I also do my best to attend as many of the activities that my ward puts on as I can. Recently I went to a family home evening put on by my ward where one of the bishopric brought potatoes from his farm and we were able to make potatoes with one another. It was a fun ward activity to be able to get together and socialize. I also strive to attend the temple on a regular basis. I find this to be a wonderful time to be able to feel the spirit which is so very prominent there. It is a place that gives a feeling a peace, of joy, and a break from the world that we live in. It is such a wonderful feeling to be able to do the ordinances for members of my family who have passed away. I know that they are complete it here and that they have the desire for such ordinances. It is a wonderful way to serve those who have passed on and to serve my God. I love this church and the opportunities it gives me to serve others. It is amazing the example that it sets for others and also the effect it has on their lives as well in my own life.
