Hi I'm Kyle

I grew up in Utah, and then Washington. I love to sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been involved with Boy Scouts of America since I was eight. It was my leader who introduced me to hiking. As a troop we climbed Mt. Hood in Oregon and Mt Rainier in Washington. Since then I have climbed other mountians, like Mt. Timpanogos in Utah. When I was standing on top of those mountains it became hard to deny the existance of God. There is no way the world could have formed by chance and still be so perfect and beautiful. I also really like to learn. When I was in high school I took advantage of a program available in Washington called Running Start. I was in a specific branch of Running Start called Ocean Research College Academy (ORCA). I took hands on classes about marine science and oceanography at the local community college that allowed me to go out on a boat each month and collect and analyze the water in the Puget Sound. These classes gave me credit for both high school and college so that when I graduated high school I also graduated with an Associates in Arts and Science. However, currently I am serving as a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Sao Paulo Brazil. I love this church and the simple gospel truths in contains. I am so grateful to be a part of a church that is centered on Jesus Christ and His atonement for me. I love the people of Brazil. I love sharing the gospel with others so they can experience the same joys and blessings that I have as they endeavor to develop a relationship with God.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I know the teachings of the church are true teachings of God. Ever since I was born I have attended church with my parents. When I was young I relied on the faith of my parents because I did not know for myself that the church was true. But as I went to church and read the Book of Mormon I developed a testimony for myself. I know that God loves His children. Joseph Smith did, in fact, see God, our Eternal Father, and His son, Jesus Christ, in a vision. Through Joseph Smith, God has restored the full gospel to the earth today. The same gospel Christ established when He was on the earth. I know the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, like the Bible. Through these books we can know the will of God. In the words of Joseph Smith as recorded in the introduction of the Book of Mormon, "the Book of Mormon [is] the most correct of any book on earth, the keystone of our religion, and a man [will] get nearer to God by abiding by it's precepts, than by any other book." I testify of these things in the name of Jesus Christ, whom I am currently representing as a missionary, amen. If you desire to know more about the gospel I highly encourage you to further explore mormon.org and to contact the missionaries in your area.

How I live my faith

In the past I have been very involved in my ward. I have fulfilled multiple assignments within the churches organization for young men. I have even been the ward choir director when I was at college. I currently a missionary. Many people ask me, "Why are you going to serve a mission? Why would you postpone school, leave your family and friends, and put your entire life on hold?" My answer is, "Because I know I'm doing what God wants me to do." I cannot say it's easy to leave everything behind and travel to a country where I do not know the language or anyone there. But I can say without a doubt, I am here because I know there is nothing I could be doing at this time in my life that will bring greater blessings to my life, my families lives, and my future families lives. God has given me so much in my life. How can I not take this opportunity to repay Him, at least in part?
