Hi I'm Aaron

I'm an online teacher, a husband, a father of four, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in a small town in Arizona. I was in construction for about ten years until the economy went downhill. Luckily, I had followed the advice of parents and church teachings by obtaining a college degree. So I was one of the lucky ones who had another profession to fall back on. I found a teaching job at a distance-learning school. This fit perfect for my little family. I am able to work from home most of the time, and we have always home-schooled our children as well. My wife and I always talked about traveling a lot etc. Then, we were blessed with four wonderful kids that try our patience and a job that doesn't leave a lot of financial wiggle room. So, we don't travel much, but we do enjoy a lot of time together. Our family enjoys gardening, riding four-wheelers (quads), fishing, and other outdoor activities.

Why I am a Mormon

I have spoken with friends that say, "I think the Mormon's are great, but there's just one thing I can't agree with..." Then they state something about our strict moral beliefs, or Joseph Smith or The Book of Mormon. I wish I could help these individuals better understand what I know and believe. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is truly led by Jesus Christ, the savior of the world. He leads the church. He established His church when He was on the earth. After Jesus and His apostles were killed, the authority to lead the church was not found on the earth any longer. This was a period of apostasy. He has restored His church to the earth. Joseph Smith was the first prophet called in our time. He was called to translate ancient records (The Book of Mormon). Ever since Joseph Smith was called, there has been prophets and apostles called to lead the Church of Jesus Christ. The Lord teaches them and they teach and inspire us. But, we are not left to guess and wonder if they speak God's words. Just as it says in the Bible, James 1:5, we can ask our heavenly father and each receive heavenly guidance in our own lives. God loves all of His children. He desires our happiness. If we open our hearts to Him He will lead us to lasting truth and happiness.

How I live my faith

I help organize the teaching that takes place in the Sunday school at our local congregation. I also have the opportunity to meet in the home of other members of the Church each month in a program we call "Home teaching". My wife and I are leaders in the scouting program for 10 year old cub scouts in our area. Mostly, I feel that I live my faith by genuinely loving my family and trying to help my children become good and honorable members of society. My wife and I do this by helping them gain a love for their fellow man, and teaching them to serve. When I show this by my own example, I am solidifying these teachings in their hearts.
