Hi I'm Rick

I live in the south and love it. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an engineer but love art, music, and other left brain activities. I have a pilot's license. I have four children. Three are married children and one Grandson and Granddaughter who are the best.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are converts and I was raised in the church. Regardless, everyone must find the truth for themselves. When I was 12, I went with my scout troop to New York where Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I too wanted to know the truth. I didn't get a visit, but the spirit did whisper to my soul that what Joseph Smith claimed was true. I have had many other spiritual experiences since then and have no doubt that the church is true. Members are not perfect, but the gospel of Jesus Christ is.

How I live my faith

I try to be a good example and live what I know is true. I serve as a counselor in the Stake presidency. We get the privilege of visiting the different congregations and talking a lot. I try not to be boring when I talk. I enjoy serving with the people I do.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

I used to be a Bishop. Part of my role was to search out those in need. The church was able to help many people who are not of our faith. We purposely looked for service opportunities outside our members so that we could have a good experience with other faiths. For the past two years I have served as a chef at a soup kitchen that is not of our faith. They do fantastic work and serve way better food than just soup. Show more Show less
