Hi I'm Livie Dawn (Olivia Horlacher)

I am a singer/songwriter. I am an actress. I love music and movies! I am happy, rambunctious and love to laugh. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a singer/songwriter and actress and have a dream of someday working in Hollywood (or Nashville, I LOVE Country music)! I am an avid reader. I love to just devour books. I am a loud, rambunctious, college student who loves to laugh and smile and be around lots of people. I am definitely a people-person! :) I am duel-majoring in Political Science and History. I love learning about government and I enjoy discussing political ideas and opinions with people. I am the oldest in a family of 12 (I have 4 sisters and 5 brothers making it an even dozen, half boys/half girls, including my parents) and I love every minute of it!! I am currently a missionary in the GKLM (Great Kentucky Louisville Mission) and love having the blessing of being able to share what I know to be true with everyone I come in contact with. When I return home I plan on finishing school and continuing to produce and better my music. I also hope to someday get married and start a family of my own!

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ lived and died for me. I know that God the Father knows me personally and that he is watching out for me. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet called upon by God and that he was the instrument to help bring about the church that I belong to, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the true, living prophet today and that he is the speaker for God. I know that God loves me. I know the Book of Mormon is true. I know that God speaks to us today through both personal revelation and also through the revelations from our modern-day prophets and apostles.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission for the church in Louisville, Kentucky! I am so excited to share what I know and believe. I know that the Atonement is infinite and touches all of us but it is also intimate and individual!! That is a beautiful knowledge that I am so happy and excited to share!

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Livie Dawn (Olivia Horlacher)
If God has given us so much, shouldn't we give back? 10% may not seem like a big deal or it may seem like too much but if we are truly grateful for what we have been blessed with then shouldn't we give back what we can? Show more Show less

What is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' attitude regarding homosexuality and same sex marriage?

Livie Dawn (Olivia Horlacher)
As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints we are told to accept all people as children of God and to love everyone and to truly be disciples of Christ is how we act and what we do. In regards to homosexuality and gay tendencies, our stand is that you are always a child of God. Homosexual behavior is sinful and is breaking one of God's laws. If you have gay or lesbian tendencies then that is a struggle that you will deal with in your life. But it is still a sin, if you act on it. Just like in the case of someone who has cleptomania and has the tendency and the urge to steal, if you fight it and don't do it then you are fine but if you steal then you are breaking a commandment. We love all of God's children equally. We hate the sin but love the sinner because none of us are perfect and we all make mistakes. But we have been asked to live a higher law of obedience and that includes fighting those tendencies and desires to break commandments and do things that go against God's words. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about family?

Livie Dawn (Olivia Horlacher)
1. I have a family here on earth. They are so good to me. I want to share my life with them through all eternity. 2. While I am in my early years, I'll prepare most carefully, So I can marry in God's temple for eternity. Chorus Families can be together forever Through Heavenly Father's plan. I always want to be with my own family, And the Lord has shown me how I can. The Lord has shown me how I can. Families can be together forever! That is such a beautiful thought and a wonderful goal to aim for! I love my family so much and I want to be with them for all eternity! I can only be with them if I do all I can to live worthy of that miraculous blessing. I must obey the commandments and strive to live the way Christ did so I can live with my Heavenly Father and my mortal family! I also have the desire to one day find a man whom I will love enough to join my life to and create a family of my own. When that happens I want to have the promise that as long as I live a worthy life then I will have the blessing of an eternal life with my beloved and my children! Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Livie Dawn (Olivia Horlacher)
We are Christians in a very real way. Jesus Christ is the center of everything we teach and live! The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ, is one of the books of scripture we read. We read that book alongside the Bible as an addition testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ and what He did for each of us. Jesus Christ is our God. He was and is the only perfect man who ever lived. He is the perfect example of how we should live and the way we should treat others. Because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ we can be cleansed from sin and return to live with our Father in Heaven once again. Show more Show less

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Livie Dawn (Olivia Horlacher)
Please come to church with us! We love having visitors. I love seeing new faces. I am always excited to welcome new people into our services. We talk about God and Jesus Christ and focus on how we can become better disciples of them. There are three hours and each serves our needs a little different. Sacrament meeting is where we are given the blessed opportunity to partake of the sacrament of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and hear speakers talk about the laws of the gospel. Sunday School is where we can break into smaller groups and be taught according to our specific needs and share personal experiences and hear from others. Relief Society and Priesthood are where the men and women split up to focus on the needs of the male and female in the church. We focus on drawing closer to God through our callings as Fathers and Mothers, Sons and Daughters, Brothers and Sisters and Children of God. Show more Show less
