Hi I'm Spencer

I'm a missionary, I like to run, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Some things about me: I really like running; cross country was my favorite in high school. I don´t run for an organized team right now but I do my best to stay in shape and hope some day to be a part of a collegiate team. I am currently a university student pursuing a Bachelor´s degree in Mechanical Engineering and hope to eventually obtain a Ph.D in Aerospace Engineering. I am currently a missionary for the LDS church and readily postponed these other dreams for this opportunity. I am confident it will be the best two years of and for my life because I will be helping other people come closer to Jesus Christ, and there is no other thing that I would rather do.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know for myself that Jesus is the Christ. Yes there were things that helped me to obtain this knowledge, things like the story of Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon, but in all reality they mean nothing without Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith was a great man, he was the means of bringing us the Book of Mormon and with it the Church of Jesus Christ and all the ordinances and covenants neccessary for salvation, but he was just a man. He was imperfect and made mistakes just like the rest of us. He was able to bring us the Book of Mormon, but it means nothing unless Jesus Christ really lived and really did suffer for our sins and really was resurrected. It means absolutely nothing unless Jesus Christ really does have the power to save us both now and forever. That is why I testify that He does have that power. He really did suffer for us so that all our pain, grief, shame, imperfections, and sins can all be taken completely away. He lives, and because of his resurrection we can all live again. Joseph Smith really saw what he saw, the Book of Mormon really is true, and Jesus is the Christ. I know this for myself because I have read the Book of Mormon, I have prayed to my Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost has testified to me the truth of it all. I know it to be 100% correct, and I will never deny it. That´s why I´m a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by bettering myself and then seeking to better others. I am hardest on myself when it comes to my faith. I try not to judge other people. I just try to make their lives better and see how the gospel of Jesus Christ can help them. Salvation is not a competition, it´s a team effort. That´s the outlook I try to take on living my faith.
