Hi I'm Curtis C.

I'm a Mormon. I have lived in Mesa, Az all my life. I am married, own a painting company, enjoy backpacking, flying, and sports.

About Me

I am married to my best friend Denise. We have six children and ten grandchildren. Mesa Az is a great place to raise a family. I am co-owner of a painting company and enjoy being a business owner. I enjoy working with people and take satisfaction in doing a good job and seeing a completed project look great. I have also enjoyed serving as a Boy Scout leader for over twenty years, which has given me opportunities to enjoy backpacking adventures and other camping activities. Some of my favorite destinations are Havasupai and Thunder River in the Grand Canyon. I also have fond memories of family camp outs in Arizona's high country. In 1984 I earned my private pilot license. Flying small planes over the scenic western United States over the years has given me a wonderful perspective of the beauty of this earth and the Lords creations. Heavenly Father has indeed blessed me with a full and happy life.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I grew up a Mormon I have come to know for myself that Jesus Christ is my Savior. He is the life and light of the world. My growth as a person is because of my knowledge of His love for me, and the possibility of being forgiven of my sins. I can say without reservation that my life is blessed because of Him, and that makes me want to show my love for Him by serving others. This knowledge did not come to me suddenly but it has consistently over a lifetime, little by little, helped me become converted to His Gospel. I can thank wonderful parents who taught me by example, and other family and friends who have had positive influence on my life. I know that prayer and the ability to converse with Heavenly Father gives me a sense that He cares about me and that I can receive divine help in every day living. I like others, have had challenges and hardships to overcome during my life. Putting my trust in the Savior has given me hope and confidence that things will work out. Having a close family and a good marriage also adds to the support system. These things I know to be true and have blessed my life.

How I live my faith

Being involved as an active and participating Mormon is really satisfying. There are so many ways to serve and help in the church. I have enjoyed a wide variety of serving opportunities from working with youth and Boy Scouts, teaching Sunday School, helping in a nursing home, visiting and helping neighbors and friends, humanitarian service, organizing father and son softball games, and serving in some leadership capacities. Living your religion every day of your life helps you focus on others instead of yourself all the time. It is so gratifying to see others improve their lives and especially to witness young people grow up and make good choices as they finish school, get married, and start their own families. Following the example of our Savior Jesus Christ gives me a good feeling as I try to treat others the way He did.
