Hi I'm Mary

I'm a Mormon. I have never met anyone I didn't learn something from. I enjoy the diversity I see in the people I meet everyday.

About Me

I am married and am a mother of 6 children, 3 boys and 3 girls. I have loved being a wife and mother. I enjoy doing home decorating, working with the youth, hanging out with our children. All of our children are now adults and we have 9 grandchildren. It is so fun to have grandchildren. They act like you are the greatest thing in their life! What a great adventure life has been so far!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family where my mother was a Mormon and my dad was not, he was an alcoholic. I loved both my parents, and I really needed something stable in my life. I started attending the LDS church in my teens. I learned that I had a Savior, even Jesus Christ who loved me and I wanted to know more about Him and how I could return to live with Him and my Heavenly Father again. I have learned so much about what it means to be Christlike, yet I have so far to go. The gospel just makes so much sense to me. I know that it is true and it is founded as the church was in the earlier days with apostles and prophets. Why would the Lord leave us here on earth without a prophet and apostles to guide us and help us to navigate this earth life? The fact is, he loves us and he wants us to have ALL that he has and he wants us to succeed here. Without spiritual guidance from inspired leaders, who hold the priesthood of God, it is nearly impossible to get through this life.

How I live my faith

I have had so many opportunities since I became a member of this church. I have had some great opportunities serving the young women of the church. We have learned about the gospel together, gone to YW camp, cried together and laughed together. Recently, I have had the opportunity to serve with women in the church. I am learning that we all are similar in some ways. We all want to succeed, we want to feel like we have something to offer and we want to be loved. I love to work with people. I have learned so much from others, from their experiences and from their testimonies of this gospel. I am grateful that I have been able to serve in leadership positions that have helped me learn, grow and strengthened my testimony. All of these experiences are helping me learn how to be Christlike, for Jesus Christ is the Savior of this world and he has saved us all by his sacrifice.
