Hi I'm Kurt

I grew up in a military family and have lived in many different states. I teach high school math. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the father of two girls and a boy and have been happily married for seven years after meeting online. Some of my interests include reading, cooking, and traveling just to name a few things. My formal education consists of two bachelor's degrees and one masters degree.

Why I am a Mormon

A little over ten years ago, I had a stark realization that my life was heading down a destructive path. I had little to show for the time that had lived and it didn't appear that things were going to change. My job at the time put me in contact with a member of the Church. We became good friends and eventually started talking about religion. He asked me if I would read The Book of Mormon and I accepted the challenge. That night I began reading and decided that if The Book of Mormon was true than the Church was worth investigating. Through further discussions with my friend, researching the Church on LDS.org and further reading of The Book of Mormon, I decided that this is what I was looking for. I called the missionaries and was baptized three weeks later. I know that this is Christ's Gospel on the Earth and that it is fashioned after the Church that He established when He walked the Earth. I am grateful for eternal families. Even though I have had challenges I know that the Gospel enriched and blessed my life more than I could have ever imagined.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trusting the Savior and serving in whatever capacity I can. I have taught the youth and worked with the Scouts. I have also been a leader among my peers. I try to live the Gospel and share it by example. I also teach my children the Gospel. I strive to be kind, honest and fair to everyone that I meet.
