Hi I'm Shawna

I grew up in California . I am a mother of two boy's. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Shawna, I am wife of an amazing man! I have been married now for seventeen years to my wonderful husband. We have two very handsome boy's. I enjoy indexing, family history, gardening and attending church also church related events as much as possible. I truly enjoy just being with my family and having fun! Having two boy's is an adventure, they keep life exciting and I love every moment of it!!

Why I am a Mormon

I became a member of his church June of 2011. I have a wonderful husband and two amazing boy's although they make me feel incredibly loved. I have always had issues with not feeling like I belonged an was aimlessly walking through life with no real sense of direction. Then I became sick with Graves Disease. I remember being at my worst and had an overwhelming feeling I needed to pray. So I did and I got on my knees and asked heavenly father why this was happening to me and my family. I asked him to help us get through this. I continued to pray on a regular bases and little by little my prayers were being answered. My faith from that point forward continue to grow and grow. After a while I knew I needed to be attending church. So I got my family ready on Sunday and we attended a little church in our town it was nice. The people were nice. There was just something that just did not sit right like something was missing and I could see it terribly in my family's faces every weekend that we attended. My Husband grew up in the church of Jesus Christ of the latter day saints but had fallen away in his late teens. My Mother-in-law and Father-in-law had always kept the church in our life in every way they could. In march of 2011 my Father-in-Law passed away from cancer. My husband loved his dad so much as we all did . It was truly devastating for the family he was a pillar that we all leaned against. A couple of day's after the funeral my husband an I were back at home an getting things unpacked and he approached me with a very serious look on his face an had said to me Shawna, I want to continue going to church but I want to attend the Mormon church. I remember the feeling in my heart, it was so warm and comforting. We started going and have not stopped. Since then my son and I were baptized and became member of the church and as for my health it has slowly gotten better. Heavenly Father was and still is with us and guides us each and every day! We feel so blessed!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to be kind, loyal, patient and to help out where I can. I believe in leading by example and my example has definitely been my savior Jesus Christ. Everyday I am Living my faith in all that I do. The way that I dress to show respect for my self and my heavenly father. The way I treat others being kind and gentle and honest with them and myself. The things I choose to not take into my body. Most importantly the time I take to study my scriptures in order to live my faith to its fullest potential. What ever may come my way I always try to ask my self would Jesus do this? How would Jesus react to this situation? I know one thing that is for sure, if he did not have answer he would kneel in prayer and ask Heavenly Father for guidance.
