Hi I'm Crystal Thomas!

I'm a Mormon. I'm a sports lover, animal lover, dancer, family girl, and soldier of Christ.

About Me

I'm currently serving a mission in St. George Utah. I have the privilege to serve at the St. George Visitor Center in addition to my calling. I plan on going to BYU Idaho after my mission. I haven't decided on a major, but I want to go into one of three fields, those being: ultrasound at an OB, animal science & research, or the performing arts. I also want to learn different languages & do some traveling. I was born & raised in the wonderful state of Georgia, home of the Bulldogs! I love the cute, small farmers town that I live in, where everyone has grown up with each other. I was a competitive swimmer from the ages of 6-16 & would have loved to go pro but my health kept me from doing so. My family nicknamed me mermaid. I also love volleyball & ultimate frisbee! My family has owned & rescued horses, dogs, & cats for as long as I can remember. It was my job to get up early and take care of the puppies & their moms. I have a passion for the piano(I'm not good at it), singing & dance. I have been taking ballroom since I was 13 & have been in 14 different musicals. I love baking & making stuff that my friends & family can enjoy. I am the second of three girls & we are all very close with each other & with our parents. My family has a special bond & I am so blessed to have the love that is in my home. If there's anything involving my family, an animal of any kind, culinary, sports, singing, dancing, theater, or different cultures, I'm in!! And most importantly I'm a Mormon!!!! :D

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in the LDS church, but there comes a point in time where you have to find out for yourself what truth is. I did a lot of soul searching and a fair bit of study and I gained a personal testimony of the truth of the gospel. Why I'm a Mormon is because I know that God is my loving Heavenly Father. I know the gospel of His Son Jesus Christ has blessed my family and can bless all families. I know that Christ came to earth to teach His gospel and to atone for the sins of the world. I know that prophets were called of God in the Bible and that for it to truly be the same church that Christ established, it needed to be restored through a prophet, and that prophet was Joseph Smith. I know that Thomas S. Monson is God's called prophet today and that he leads and directs Christ's church through His authority. I know that the Book of Mormon was written by ancient prophets as was the Bible and that they are both the word of God. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God. I have read it and prayed to know of it's truth and through the Holy Spirit, God has told me and many others that it is true. I know that God has a plan and purpose for me and all of His children, and that this is the true restored gospel of Jesus Christ and that this is His church. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always striving to follow Christ. I try to serve as He did and I look for opportunities to share the blessings that come from knowledge of His restored gospel. I uphold the standards that He has set forth, so that my actions and appearance can be a testament of my faith in Christ. I read my scriptures daily and I pray and talk with my Father in Heaven daily. I believe that a personal relationship with God and Christ are vital to finding a fullness of joy in this life. I know that I have a lot of flaws and that I am no where near perfect, but I know that because of Christ and His atoning sacrifice, if I will always strive to do my best, He has paid the price for where I fall short. I try to live my life in a way that will honor my Heavenly Father and all that He blesses me with and that honors the sacrifice and life and teachings of His Son Jesus Christ. I attend church every week to fellowship with those that share my beliefs and to be uplifted by the spirit that is there. I go to continue to learn and to teach. I surround myself with positive influences such as clean music, movies and other media, and spending my time with those that accept and support me in my faith. I have chosen to dedicate a short time of 18 months of my life to the Lord by leaving behind friends and family and serving my fellow man and sharing the restored gospel. I love my Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. I know that all people are children of God and they are my brothers and sisters and I love them. I show my faith by living the way God intended for me to live.
