Hi I'm Todd

I'm a biostatistician, father, and husband. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've always loved numbers. When I was little I collected baseball cards and memorized all the player statistics. I also have an uncanny ability to remember numbers wherever I see them. Perhaps that's why I became a biostatistician. I use my facility with numbers and my interest in science to work with scientists to design experiments and analyze data. Over the years I've worked on lots of interesting problems, such as evaluating the neurological effect of pesticides found on fruit, defining the contributors to heart disease, and discovering new therapies to treat diabetes, obesity, and cancer. Currently I help scientists develop and monitor the manufacturing process for a one-in-a-kind cancer drug that is helping people with Hodgkin's lymphoma and ALCL.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 10 I read the Book of Mormon for the first time. I felt in my heart and mind that it was the word of God. I determined to follow the Church teachings and over the years, my conversion has steadily increased as I have felt God's love and seen his hand blessing me and my family. I have an assurance that there is a prophet on the earth again and that the Lord speaks through him to warn and guide us through the challenges we face.

How I live my faith

I teach a zero period class on the New Testament to high school freshmen. We begin at 6:25 every morning and most of the class comes willingly every day to walk vicariously in the footsteps of Jesus and learn his gospel. Every night I read and study the Bible so I can be prepared to teach these dedicated kids. In class we pray, read the scriptures, and discuss how to apply the principles we've learned to the 21st century. With my family, I read the scriptures every night and we pray together before work and school and again before we go to bed. We discuss the teachings of the prophets so our faith can be strengthened and to receive courage to live the gospel of Jesus Christ.
