Hi I'm Mackenzie

I'm the kind of person who laughs at the same joke for a week and sings in the rain during soccer practice... And I'm a mormon!

About Me

I play soccer year-round, and I also like playing basketball and volleyball with my friends. I'm always the first person on a rollercoaster, and the last person to ever go near a spider. I love writing and reading and I want to be an author and share my talents with everyone. I also love singing, and music makes my life so much better. My family means the world to me, and my three brothers always keep me busy and entertained. Religion plays a huge part in my life, and gives me so much happiness. I love reading the scriptures and my favorite Bibical story is the one of Ester. The fact that one girl can make such a difference is an inspiration for me and always gives me courage to be true to who I am. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church; both my parents are active members. I have a strong, religon based family who have helped me make good choices and have good morals. Many people I know don't understand why I spend so much time at church and why it is so essential in my life. As I stated earlier, my family is religion-centered, and that certainly plays a huge role in mine and my brothers lives. One of my brothers went to El Salvador for two years to teach the gospel, and my other brother is currently in Brazil and spreading the gospel to others there. My brothers did not go on their missons because it sounded cool, they went because they knew the gospel of Jesus Christ is life-changing and can fill you will inner peace and utter joy. I know this because that is what it has done for me. I love my savior, Jesus Christ, and I pray someday I will see him again. I love the scriptures, and I know with my whole heart that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. When I read the Book of Mormon, I feel this happiness I don't feel anywhere else. Maybe people claim it could never be true, but I know that if you would read it with an open heart and mind you would also know it is true. I have a testimony that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, called to restore Jesus Christ's gospel, and that our current prophet is a man of God. I know that I can be with my family forever because of this gospel, and that I can always repent and be forgiven of my sins through our redeemer Jesus Christ. I know first hand the power of prayer, and that our father in heaven loves us and will always be there for us. Many people attack me for my beliefs, but I will never deny that I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. To my death will I proclaim the saving grace of my savior, and the love we each have as children of God. I am a daughter of God, and while I may not always be true to my title, I know that he will always love me, and in this knowledge I live for him.

How I live my faith

I go to seminary every morning before school to be with fellow youth who have the same beliefs. We learn more of our savior and the gospel there and have fun together. Currently we are studying the Old Testament, and I've enjoyed learning of the prophets of old and the faith they had. On Sunday mornings I attend church. There's this special feeling at church, and I know so many people there love me and care for me. We are like a huge family, and we always try to make everyone feel welcome. I have amazing teachers and leaders who help me build my testimony and put so much time and effort into doing this. I am so grateful for the chance to like in America, where we have freedom to have our own beliefs and values because I don't know what I'd do without it. Through the gospel of Jesus Christ I find true friendship, support, and love.
