Hi I'm Sarah

I'm an aspiring social worker, a writer, a surfer, an avid journaler, and a photographer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Sometimes my thoughts are in Spanish. I don't speak Spanish. My favorite childhood toys were a dictionary and camera. My favorite color is yellow. I enjoy riding my bike. I used to work with at-risk youth. My favorite painting is Van Gogh's Blossoming Almond Tree. I enjoy writing short stories on my typewriter. I hate wearing shoes. I have a giant crush on my 3 legged dog. I have surfing dreams at least 3 times a week. Reading fills my soul with light. My Summers were owned by the lakes of Arizona. Lime and Cilantro makes anything taste better. I have this overwhelming desire to know everything. I really adore my family, I'm the youngest of 7 (1sister & 5 brothers). I'm a social work student and hope to be a therapist for at-risk youth. I'm an advocate for laughter.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always been "a Mormon." But it wasn't until I graduated from high school that I converted to The Gospel of Jesus Christ. I always knew that the teachings of the LDS church were true, but I didn't have a burning conviction until my conversion. When I moved away from home I sought out the missionaries and asked them if they would teach the lessons to me as if I were an investigator. Through this and my own searching and pondering of the gospel, I was able to find my own deep personal testimony of the Savior and his gospel. I know that Christ lives and through his gospel we can return and live with our loving Heavenly Father for time and all eternity. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and he saw what he said he saw. I know that we have a prophet on the earth today and that he does speak with our Father in Heaven. Families can be together forever through the covenants made in the holy temple. I know Heavenly Father loves his all his children regardless of what they have done or what has been done to them. The atonement is real and through it we may be saved, there is no sin or burden too great. I know these things to be true, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live like Jesus. When I fall I utilize the atonement through repentance. My faith grows as I strengthen my relationship with God through prayer and scripture study. I live my faith by serving and loving others.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

We can increase our faith in Jesus Christ by following God's commandments. Commandments are not barriers but rather they make us free. We can also increase our faith in Jesus Christ by getting to know him by studying His word. As we exercise faith, by utilizing the atonement and trying to live as he lived, our faith will grow.
