Hi I'm Travis Harper

I love playing any sport and being active and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest sibling in my family i have an older brother and a twin sister. i plan on going to college in about a 6 months and plan to study physical therapy, of course that could change when i get there. All my life I was around sports mostly playing football, basebball and basketball. I also enjoy getting out and enoying nature through hiking, camping, and snowboarding.

Why I am a Mormon

Well I was raised in the church so I would go to church whenever my mom went, which was about 75 % of the time and my dad wasn't real active and still isn't. So it was tough for my mom to handle 3 kids. As i got older I tried to do the right thing but sometimes fell short as we all sometimes do. There came a point in my life where I had to make some decisions about life. Growing up i had been taught that God has a plan for each of us so i tried praying and at first i felt nothing, but as i continued in faith my faith grew and i started to see where the Lord wanted me and what i was suppose to be doing. The thing that really helped me the most was the example of my family exspecailly my older brother. He showed me that through hard work and determination anything was possible. I then took the promise from the Book of Mormon, which states if anyone reads it and asks in faith they will recieve an answer from God. Thats exactly what I tried and my answer wasnt given to me right away it took a little time and much effort on my part. But eventually God answered my prayers, which has led me where i am at today.

How I live my faith

Being a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is so much fun. We also have so many oppertunities to do service projects for the community. I strive to read my scriptures daily and share what I have learned with others. I think if you have a religion you have to love the teachings and want to follow them and share them with those who do not know.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Travis Harper
Familes teach us and help us grow more than any other structure made, because this structure simply was made by God so we could be taught in the right ways and follow after our parents or what they had taught us. However we cannot choose where we are born or who are family is but there is something stronger than just an aqantance and it can be very powerful and motivating if we become closer to those in our family. Why is it important for us to take care of our bodies? Why are our bodies called temples of God in the Bible?

Travis Harper
Our bodies are a gift from got and we should treat them as such. Sometimes they are called temples, in temples the holy ghost dwells and teaches us many things. The holy ghost is there because it is in working order inside and out and a god has accepted it as his house. Imagine this if every temple out there looked like it wasn't being taken care of who would want to be around it, definitely not the holy ghost and i want to be with the holy ghost always to help me with hard decisions i have in life. Which is why I try to eat health all the time but of course that doesn't always happen, when i do eat healthy though i feel so much better and have so much more energy for the day and my activities. scripture study, praying, and attending church help with making the inside (spirit) part of our temple look and feel good.
