Hi I'm Adam Ingersoll

I was born and raised in Boise, Idaho and love to play sports and the violin. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Sports have always been a huge part of my life and I remember growing up how my parents had me involved in teams almost every season. I love playing football, basketball, and rugby and I was lucky enough to get to play them all the way through high school. I am looking forward to continuing playing football when I get home from my mission. My mom also made sure music was a part of my life and encouraged me to play an instrument. When I was five, I had a friend down the street ask me if I wanted to start taking violin lessons with him. I did not think it would last very long, but I am actually still playing the violin today. I have been playing for almost 15 years and am so thankful my mom pushed me to stick with it. Music has been a blessing in my life and I love the feelings a great song can bring. My parents instilled in me a good work ethic and I have applied it to all the sports I play, the violin, and my school work. When I get home from my mission I will be attending Brigham Young University and playing football there. I love being active and working hard in everything I do.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always had a personal testimony of Jesus Christ. As I study the scriptures and pray to my Heavenly Father, I have come to know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church. I read the Book of Mormon for the first time when I was eight years old as a challenge from my dad. After reading it, I just felt good and knew it was true. Since then I have read it many more times and learn something new from it every time. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and translated that book by the power of God. I am so thankful to have a prophet on the earth today who leads and guides this church. I know that the prophet and apostles are special witnesses of Jesus Christ and let us know exactly what Christ would have us know. Knowing this, my church responsibilities and duties come first in my list of priorities. I have seen how close my family is because we live our lives in a way God would have us live them. I am always willing to work hard and do what is asked of me because I have seen and experienced the blessings of being a faithful servant of my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and I am devoted to live that way the rest of my life.

How I live my faith

Growing up I was always very involved in the youth activities of the church. I really enjoy getting together with others my age and working on service projects or playing a game of basketball or football. Working and having fun with others was a big part of my ward and it is a big part of the Church as well. My ward helped me with my Eagle Project for Boy Scouts, where we put together a Christmas for about 30 different refugee families. We gathered toys, coats, gloves, hats, books, cookies, and put together a Christmas Program at the church building. Santa came and it ended up being a great experience where we helped out those who had not had a Christmas in the United States before. I am serving a mission for the Church and am loving every bit of it. Getting out and sharing the gospel with others has been a blessing to me and the people I get to work with everyday.
