Hi I'm Autumn Warner

I'm a college student. I'm a Texan. I'm an aspiring musician and nurse. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am in love with music. I play guitar, ukulele, and piano; singing is my favorite though. I write my own songs, and I love sharing them. I also play any sport you can throw at me. I may not be really good at all of them, but I'm competitive and enjoy being outside. I don't get many opportunities to hike or camp, but I enjoy them when I can. I love my family. I really believe my parents are the most sincere people on the face of the planet, and they made me who I am today.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church; HOWEVER, I found out for myself that this is the true church of the living God. I always found it interesting that people would think really hard and come to their own conclusions about Who and What God is. Instead of forming your own opinion, you can get on your knees and ask Him Who He is. That's what I did. My testimony of this church came in bits and pieces as I was growing up, but it grows stronger every time I open the Book of Mormon. Whenever I read it, or whenever I go to church or the temple, I feel this little bit of warmth inside me. It's not artificial, and it doesn't solve all my problems, but it changes me. It gives me real happiness, and not the kind the world tries to offer you. It teaches me truths that have been true forever and will be forever, such as the concept of families. I will be with my family forever, and that means I will always have someone to love me. I'm grateful for my Savior. I try to take time each day to thank Him for what He did for me. I owe Him that much. When all else fails me, I can count on the fact that He loves me. He knows me, and still decided that I'm worth loving.

How I live my faith

I read my scriptures. I go to church. I attend the temple weekly. Many would think that is unnecessary, but I don't just do it because I'm asked to. I've realized how much I need my Savior, and I've realized how much He loves me. I could not thrive on life like I do without that knowledge. He knows eternal truths and He knows how to find real happiness. When He tells me I need to go to church and to the temple, I listen because He's only trying to teach me where to find happiness. And you know what? I've found it.

Why don’t women hold the priesthood in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? How do Mormon women lead in the Church?

Autumn Warner
My father taught me that the Lord has a reason for everything. In our church, we believe that men and women have certain ordinances that need to be performed in order to live with our Father in Heaven again. The only difference is that men have to receive the ordinance of the priesthood. The priesthood is the power of God invested in His servants. In other words, the priesthood is what makes a man like Christ. Women don't need that. We can create life, and that's what makes us like Christ. Show more Show less
