Hi I'm Sarah

I'm an author, a singer, a teacher... I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to learn and have studied many things in college. My main focus is teaching, child development, psychology... I love figuring out the inner workings of things. I also am fascinated with archeology and anthropology. I enjoy learning about people in the past. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, but also quiet time, reading or writing my own books. Every day is a new adventure when you can create your own world in writing! I also love to sing. It amazes me how much feeling can be expressed through music. I wish I could travel the world! I have a passion for learning about other cultures and experiencing them first hand. I also enjoy languages. I currently speak English and French, but I hope to learn many more. Italian and Romanian are at the top of my list! I also am fascinated by family history. It's amazing to learn about family members you've never met before, to find interesting stories about similar interests they may have had, and to find out how exactly you got here.

Why I am a Mormon

I've always been a member of the church, but I believe that everyone still has to find out if something is true for themselves, not just believe it because they're told to. For me, there's a strong feeling of the spirit at this church. I can go about my life and things may be crazy from time to time, but when I walk into the church building or when I go somewhere and quietly pray, there's such a feeling of peace and rightness that I can't imagine would be felt if these things weren't true or if our Heavenly Father weren't here to listen and help us continue on this path. I know that we have a living prophet in these modern days who is called of God and who helps us in our lives. I know that our Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us and will never lead us astray. He wants us to be happy; he wants to bless us; and he is with us always if we are willing to seek him out through prayer and talk to him. I'm thankful for the knowledge that Christ sacrificed his life for me, that I may learn and grow and have the opportunity to one day be with my Heavenly Father and my family for all eternity. No matter what problems we face, no matter how difficult this life may get (because we all know there are moment when the world feels like it's ending and we just don't understand) God IS there. He's listening and will help you through it. We don't always see that big picture, but he'll help us put the pieces together in time. I'm not perfect, but our Heavenly Father doesn't ask us to be. He just asks us to try and promises that he'll be there with us as we do. I see every day as a new adventure, another chance to try again. This church has helped me to be the best person I think I can be. I know this church is true, I know that we are given the Book of Mormon to learn of the people in the past and better understand what we must do today in modern times. I look forward to learning more, understanding things just a little bit better, and having many more days to try my best!

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission in Canada. I am so thankful for the opportunity to teach others of God and Jesus Christ, of their love for us and how their teachings can help us in our lives. Being a member of this church has helped me so much in my life, and the peace and happiness that I am able to find through this gospel is something I wish I could shout from the roof tops and give to everyone. However, it's not something I can give, I can only offer it and hope that the spirit touches their hearts as much as it's touched mine and that they can come to know for themselves that these things are true.
