Hi I'm Jared

I grew up in Texas, I play the drums, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm happily married with two wonderful boys. I studied accounting in college and received my MBA and CPA. I now help run a family business and enjoy working with my dad and brothers. I play soccer, volleyball, drums, guitar, and piano.I love wrestling with my boys and making them laugh. My biggest accomplishment in life was marrying my wife, whom I admire for her close relationship with Heavenly Father.

Why I am a Mormon

My father is a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was introduced to the Chuch in his mid-20s, years before I was born. I have had the blessing of learning the Gospel in my youth. High school was an adventure filled with numerous temptations - alcohol, drugs, fowl language, pre-marital sex, and much more. I am thankful I had a Christ-centered home where I could escape from those horrible activities and return to feel God's love for me. Throughout my adult life I have noticed that I still face similar temptations. As I practice the principles I learned in my youth, however, I am able to overcome those temptations. Because of this experience in my youth, I know I want my children to have the strength to live moral lives. I want them to know that there is a Father in Heaven that loves them and wants the best for them. I know that Heavenly Father is real and that he cares for us. I know that Jesus Christ, his son, is real and that he died for us. We will return to them one day, if we follow their commandments.

How I live my faith

Each month I am responsible for visiting two families that live near by. I have the opportunity to make sure their needs are met temporally, as well spiritually. I enjoy serving them because by doing so I come closer to Christ. He taught and practiced service his entire ministry. I am thankful I can learn more about the Savior by doing what he did.

What is being a Mormon like?

It's not easy, but it's worth it. I look at my kids and have this innate desire to make them to best people they can be. The best way I know how is to teach them the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So, being Mormon, to me, is about helping others, my kids specifically, grow closer to Christ. Show more Show less
